I own a 2003 Toyota Tundra but my speaker housings don't say JBL, will this kit and ATOTO system still work for me?
@b-lopez3942 күн бұрын
Next time you do a front wheel drive CVs, it is easier to remove the drive axle if you disconnect the lower control arm ball joint and remove the struts and steering knuckle together if you are replacing the struts. If you are not replacing the struts just disconnect the lower ball joints and loosen the top struts mounting nuts, loosen it enough that you can move the steering knuckle outward to clear drive axle end spline and set it aside with bunching cord or something similar. The drive axle should be easily accessible then. Also if you are using a form a gasket sealant where the part is subject to any petroleum product, use Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. Make sure you degrease the parts before assembly. This thing works. I retired as a fleet mechanic/welder and we used it numerous times on engines and drivetrains.

You ought to get a steel material that is the same thickness as the panhard mounting bracket and try to weld it with your welder with different settings before you weld the actual project. I could be wrong but I think the setting is too cold. It showed that there isn't enough penetration. A good weld should appear smooth, without slag or porosity causing unwanted texture regardless if you are welding with fluxed core wire or gas shielded solid wire. Try setting your machine to weld thicker material which make the machine weld hotter and check how it weld. JMO

Hello, New Viewer here. @25:18 latch installation. As you know, you'll be carrying the spare tire and it is heavy. How the latch is mounted is not holding the swing arm from opening. It should be somehow designed and mounted horizontally to hold the swing arm from swinging out. As it is, the vibration will make the swing arm move back and forth. Also, I think, if you design your swing arm lock @15:38 when you do your remod and shape it like a C and drill 3 position holes, it work better for you. Position the middle hole to lock the swing arm just to clear the hatch when opening it. This way you don't have to open the swing arm all the way when you need something inside the back of the truck. JMO.

@@xxpocketknifexx7084 I also like to mention that if you are going to be mig welding with gas instead of fluxed cored wire, you can save money by using 100% CO2. Mix gas, not only more expensive to refill but also uses more gas when you weld. I use 20 lbs bottle with 100% CO2 on my old 135 Miller MIG and it last me a long time. Probably it last more than 3x than a mix gas with the same capacity bottle.

24:37 - That's definitely not right, man. Its grinding and stripping the teeth. Did you take the clearance/spacing measurements after install? I think that's where people go wrong. If the spacing is out of spec, it will strip the teeth out. Eventually it will not even deliver power going straight.
@xxpocketknifexx70842 ай бұрын
I thought that did not have to be checked unless messing with the spacer shims for pinion or side spacers
@coffeeandlifting2 ай бұрын
@@xxpocketknifexx7084 Its my understanding that you don't have to check your gear pattern or backlash like you do if you change your ring and pinion (or carrier), but you are supposed to check the spacing on the locker itself once inside the housing since its new to your diff. I think this grinding happens if the clearance is too large. Did you transfer the shims from your factory side gears and put them on your locker?
@xxpocketknifexx70842 ай бұрын
I believe I did reinstall the spider gear shims on the lunchbox locker. I just remeber the lunchbox locker having play when installed in the 3rd member.

My sequoia leaked from the upper corner on the windshield on the driver side and ran down the A Pilar and would soak the carpet in the exact same spot. Took me a while to figure out where it was coming from. I’ve heard that if you’ve ever had you windshield replaced and they cut through the paint the channel will rust and a leak will develop. Just a heads up that might be where your leak is coming from. The leak runs behind the trim so If you pull off the a pilar trim you will be able to tell if that’s where it is leaking.
