We are searching for day tours more for the English/Australian troops history at Normandy. Most of the day trips seem to be to the American memorials - no offence to Americans - but living in Australia and of English heritage we are looking to explore that side. Any suggestions?

we were in Paris last week and arrived at the train station, went to the official taxi line and still got out of two different taxis who claimed cash only and they would take us to an ATM. we took our bags out and left. In the end we did catch the metro which is what we usually do. We just thought we would treat ourselves to a taxi. Disappointing we were directed to these taxis by people running the taxi queue. At least we had watched your video and told them to get lost - so thanks

A native New Yorker , I have lived in Paris for 47 years . Watch out for lines 4 and 6 metro and 38 bus . Always keep bag in front of you with hand on zipper and avoid being crushed . Pickpockets work in pairs and hand off easily before you are aware. Tourists in Europe should keep original passport in hotel safe and sightsee with a photocopy in their bag . That is what I do throughout Europe when visiting other countries

can i ask someting ? puis-je poser une question ? comment cela se fait-il que vous aimiez autant la France ? How is the point you like so much France ? and , why only Paris ? et pourquoi toujours Paris ? For I , you seem to be a sort of " priviligiés " you don't seem to be proletarian people So for i , it seems you are in a bisness pour moi, j'ai l'impression que vous faites cela pour l'argent

Paris trying to find every way to fine you. The reduced fare should say kids only-rather tricking people its reduced. The only one that makes sense is putting feet on the seats.

My family and I are going to Paris in a little over a week and somewhere along the way of planning for the trip, I ran into a couple of your videos. I told my wife about "this down to earth couple who are easy to listen to and give great advice for people like us". She fell in love with your videos and now, after we put our young boy to bed, she tells me that she wants to watch some videos from "our friends". I can't think of a higher compliment than that! Thank you for all the great work you've put into your channel. It has helped us out immensely!

Wow, sounds like a criminal enterprise with so many fines. It shouldn’t be that complicated. In Beijing or Shanghai, you get a card with certain amount of money on it and every time you use the card money is deducted from it no matter who is using it. And most Chinese citizens use their phone to pay and money is deducted directly from their account. Paris seems medieval in This regard.

CAUTION: No pay the fine immediately add 30€ administration fee if it's paid in 20 days. Or 50€ if it's paid in the 45 days. After 45 days the fine is between 180€ and 375€ and the French Tresor ask by the justice the amount directly at your home. Another fine who can cost 150€ + indemnisation (up to 3750€) : Forgot a bag in the station, blocking the doors when they close, speak to loud or loud music. And 25€ if you don't take a wrong way

Line 1 Palais Royal to Etoile. The PR station has only five turnstiles and not one of them has the slot for the single trip ticket……..pass scan only. What to do? Sneak in or wait in a LONG line in that cramped station to have someone figure it out for me. I purchase 20 tickets at a time so I can zip from train to train with ease. The Palais Royale station was the only one that didn’t have the single ticket slot.

We are going in two weeks. We will be there 5 days and traveling to CDG airport, Disney and Versailles as well as in the metro area. We have iPhones. After viewing the video and reading the comments it seems like we should purchase Paris visit pass and have it loaded on our iPhone. We can visit zones 1-5 and iPhone tap is working now? Thanks for feedback!

Y'know, I couldn't bear to watch this to the end. "Highway robbery" is what all this is, or maybe "Low-way robbery," considering it's the Metro. Rider-hostile policies and certainly tourist-hostile. Public transport shouldn't be this Byzantine. And paper tickets that you have to sign? 20th C technology, or maybe 19th. Tourists are expected to approach shop workers and others with a cheery, false "Bon Jour!!!" or they will be given surly service. The French are so pissy. Come to NYC. If you fall, we'll pick you up. If you need directions, you'll get them, and maybe even be escorted (I've done it). A simple metro card will get you on to any subway train or bus--no zones--and you'll be surprised by free transfers too. And you don't have to act deferential, either.

15:32 This point is completely false. Bringing a bottle of wine to a dinner party is perfectly acceptable and even standard. If your host is a man, don't bring him flowers, the classic thing to bring will be a bottle of wine. However, the bottle you bring will not necessarily be drunk during the evening. Your host has probably already chosen one suitable for the meal he has planned, which is also normal. Great video otherwise =)

One of the basic gripes I have is having to push your way through the incoming crowd to get off a métro. Even with the new system where there is a barrier along the edge of the platform to stop people falling or being pushed onto the track (it's electrified) there are still those who will crowd across the doorways to trains. In some stations such as RER C Saint Michel, they now have attendants dressed in red to make sure people can get off trains first without having to push and shove. Yes I do see people who put their feet on the seats and if they get caught, usually they're given a warning. The other thing to remember is that now métro tickets (tickets optile) have been replaced by a blue-coloured card or pass that you load (charge) with virtual tickets, so when you are controlled it's easy to check on. If anyone is interested in finding out how the transport network in the Ile de France is evolving, I recommend a visit to the Fabrique du Métro in Saint-Ouen via the brand-new Ligne Quatorze. As the train is automatic, they've put in a pretend driver's instrument panel so that children can pretend to drive the train, which is a nice idea. First-time visitors to Paris are often surprised to find that some of the métro lines are overhead, so you can get a view as you go rushing past. My favourite is going from Montparnasse to Passy via le Pont Bir-Hakeim on Ligne 6.

We were in Paris a couple of weeks ago. I can’t thank you enough for mentioning the different entrances. Our tickets stated we could enter in the main entrance or the Carrousel. The main entrance line was so long, but using the Carrousel entrance we had no wait at all. That tip saved us so much time!
