Hearing people talking about there own situations that was similar to Pratt and Paris, it’s like those people who are like “I can fix him/her” except instead of doing it for the fix it mentality it was out of love and wanting to support your partner but then they end up dropping you. There’s most likely some success stories but there’s a lot of negative experiences with this type of relationship. I wonder what it is, once the person you picked up and helped get to a better place actually gets to a better place, do they want to try to live without you? Is it an insecurity of some sort that builds when they kinda start to think that their success isn’t their own? They realized how much you helped them and it starts to feel like they can’t do anything on their own? So then it gets to the point where they leave? To prove to themselves they can stand on their own? Personally, I can see this being the reason and all I have to say is anyone who thinks like this needs therapy. I also think it’s natural to feel this way but to let it get to the point where you distance yourself from good people who only care about you? That’s a need for therapy. I can also kinda see it being like when people who don’t have much and up with people who have more power and influence and then you gain that power and influence whether you’re dating that person, you’re their friend, or maybe they’re your boss or can start to seem like your success isn’t your own and the only reason you got there is because of that one person. So you leave to see if you can stand on your own two feet and keep what you have. It’s wrong to cheat though no matter the reason. Also a song that explains situations like this perfectly is “Without Me” by Halsey.
