There's a song in BOTW that legit sounds nearly identical to Fountains of Rome. Vah Medoh Shrine B sounds like it's nearly the exact same notes and tempo as Fountains of Rome. I think the same notes are used in the cutscene right before the Colgera battle in TOTK as well, which would make sense thematically given them both being Rito related.

💥 Can I use musiscore to improvise at the piano, and it writes correctly ? Can I instruct what notes belong to a bar, when I play a rubato ? Most notation softwares are based on the clock for notation on tempo, but can I improvise freely and later organize where each group of notes should belong to a bar, distributing the notes correctly on the sheet music ? 😮

I’m a horn player and I’ve played maybe one Zelda game and I got all but one correct… You just need to be able to tell if it would fit in a video game theme or not 😂
@orangepacker7479Күн бұрын
The main differentiator for me was the driving force of the excerpts. A video game sound track has a constant driving force, but a classical piece will try to be more lyrical. If that makes any sense.

I have a doubt in the 1st song (primrose the dancer) in 32 and 33 bar if it is perfect cadence it should be 5 -1 so Am to Dm , but it's Bb and Dm , I don't understand why Bb , could you please explain me .
@RyanLeachКүн бұрын
It's Bb - C - Dm. So the Cadence is actually C - Dm. The C is a bVII chord, a common substitute for V borrowed from the minor mode

Moonlight Sonata 2nd Movement is based on Locrian mode, however it doesn't strictly stick to it, it deviates with naturals and sharps.

Tbh, once I heard the first Zelda one, I found it easy to distinguish then. I'm a huge music nerd though for the songs. So yeah... Basically if you don't recognize it instantly, it's not Zelda.

This "Relative Multipolar Tonality" technique that you describe has always been know to me as "Modal Interchange". When I do a web search for "Relative Mulitpolar Tonality" I don't find many mentions of it, while a web search for "Modal Interchange" does. Did you re-invent the wheel give it a new name? Is there a difference between these two terms?

Textbooks don't "fail" to connect four-part writing with orchestration. The idea is that you learn harmony first, then learn orchestration. I don't think that's a problem.

One thing to note. Some great sonic tracks make great use of measures that are 4 straight quarter notes often used to contrast lightning quick solo melody measures. Anything boring in music can be made interesting in the right context.
