This is so incredible. It amazes me that there was so much great material left on the editing table. Fans of the film will definitely appreciate this.

Does anyone recognize the music playing right at the beginning?
@Laroling3 ай бұрын
It's from the soundtrack. But it definitely has to be inspired by impressionist classical music like Debussy and Ravel.

in the script he dreams about opening the box and fire coming out while asleep in the office. so if anything it's following in-story dream logic. then again, pta is known to play pretty fast and loose with his scripts as he scouts locations / gets working with actors- so who knows what was intended!!

It's interesting to me that they cut out the entire subplot of the split saber making everyone go insane. Makes the whole thing more mystical and mysterious... wonder why?
@marcguidobolen6939 ай бұрын
what do you mean?
@jackbynum9 ай бұрын
In the film the book the split saber is more described as pseudo-science and mysticism. It isn't the piece of suicide inducing revelation that these scenes seem to suggest. In the greater context of the film (had the scenes regarding it's existence and origin been maintained) it provides an interesting mystery at the heart of the film and peaks my interest as to what real life things PTA was pulling from in writing those scenes.
@marcguidobolen6939 ай бұрын
What scenes are you referring to that give you the sense that the the book is suicide inducing or that it makes everyone go insane?@@jackbynum

Well maybe that was a little too incendiary given the Scientology angle but I'm glad he deleted it rather than not shooting it at all.😉
