You can switch your captain every day within a matchday. So, if Wirtz doesn't score well, you can change the captaincy to Mbappe. If Mbappe also doesn't perform, you can change it again to Ronaldo, as long as Ronaldo hasn't played yet.

Any player you add during an ongoing match, like the Scotland vs Germany match, won't get points for that game. You'll start earning points from the next game onwards in the matchday.

Yes, if a subbed-in player doesn't perform as expected, you can sub them back out for another player on your bench, provided the new player hasn't played yet within the matchday.
