The wah wah vocals and others are mimicking animal sounds (coyotes), howling desert winds and the percussive sounds of horse hooves....to my understanding

You should do a "First Time Watching Reaction" for all four Spaghetti Westerns, "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and "Once Upon a Time In the West". All were scored and directed by Ennio Morricone. I would love to see your "reaction" to the MUSIC and how it works with the scenes in each of the movies.

The drowning out of the soloist is intentional. This performance is true to the original piece of music and its arrangement, in which the soloist, and indeed the choir as well, suddenly shift to back-up, or support, for the orchestra as it begins that crescendo. I hope you find time to listen to the original piece. I think it will surprise you.

Check out the Diva Dance duet with Dimash and Li Yugang. He hits a similar high note there.
@dirks655015 минут бұрын
No mistake on the D8 you can hear the note bend. From what I heard Dimash did make a mistake in he missed a note, that is way he shook the microphone and then he was a little frustrated and he went for the high note.

you mixed the BAD and the Ugly!

He missed the note and didn't produce sound the second time so then he did the unthinkable and improvised and produced a D8 whistle note.

Best analysis of the DNSO video I've come across. But Eli Wallach is "The Bad", Van Cleef is "The Ugly".

Just try this KZfaq artist, metal singer from Brazil, that can sing almost anything, he does opera, stage (Phantom of the opera, Jesus Christ superstar, The greatest showman), folk, rock and roll, power metal, 80's metal. If you enjoy "spaghetti western" songs. You might want to listen to the sound track of the movie, "My name is Nobody. " Music composed by Ennio Morricone , "The Wild Bunch" and compare it to the "Darth Vader's Theme" or "The Imperial March," composed by John Williams. ... Ide be willing to bet John Williams was a spaghetti western fan as well!
@Valjean666dkСағат бұрын
What I don't know it whether the "western sound" always was there, and Morricone just was able to put it together. Or if he created the "western sound", and made everyone think that is what a western is supposed to sound like. Also, listening to the original version, which I remember haunting me as a kid, I still find the version by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, is taking it to the next level. No shade on Morricone, who created a masterpiece, with the resources he had available.

The trailer for the movie gives the wrong impression it's about the Civil War, while in reality that war serves as a back-drop for the story wherein three guys are after a gold cache buried at a certain cemetery inside a certain grave. The trailer also has the character denomination wrong. Van Cleef is the bad, not the ugly and Eli Wallach is the ugly, not the bad...

The Danish National Symphony does quite a few theme nights for prominent and popular franchises, including Star Wars, in which they even do the original ending "YUB NUB" Ewok song, that got replaced when Lucas added all the CGI to the original trilogy. But they also covered The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, The Godfather, the Bond films and many more, so definitely check out more of their videos.

It's so refreshing to come across a fellow musician who can hear, understand and appreciate the level of professionalism they are witnessing. In particular I find the oboe with piano counterpoint especially moving. It's truly sublime and not what you expect from "western music".

If you want to get started on watching spaghetti westerns, I can think of none better than The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. It's the movie that started Clint Eastwood's rise to fame

Thank you. Your comments were amazing. We need to remember that this was a spaghetti western - that equals no money. I have been amazed at the intricacy of musical intimacy that was created on a very (no really no money) low budget film. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra just blows it away. Wah, Wah - where does that whistle come from. And the soprano is amazing. The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly was and is the epitome of production for a western.

While the film takes place during the civil war, the trailer over plays that part. It’s really a treasure quest. And Ennio Morricone was a musical genius, RIP. You’d be best to see the trilogy in the order they came out even though this is the best of the 3.

Opera is about telling a story so I think your next song should be his music video of " When I've Got You" . Then you can see him as a vampire.

That was one of the best reactions I’ve witnessed. Too many might’ve written this off as their grandfathers western. But you marveled at the symphonic elements to make such a production. I loved it!

This is mind-blowing to me.... but they made the film to the music. It's _always_ the other way around. But that's why Leone has all these long scenes.... he needed the footage to match the length of the music

I have watched this clip over and over because it’s just SO. Darn. Good. I only watched Once Upon A Time In The West once. Also scored by Morricone so the music is sublime but I found the movie villain so scary (played by Henry Fonda) I was hiding behind the couch. I was around ten I believe! I don’t think The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is as tense 😅

Ennio Morricone was THE giant among giants. I grew up on these soundtracks.That music, it stays with you forever. The movies too! I saw them on afternoon TV and those were violents! 😆 And the theme from "Once Upon a Time in the West" would make me cry every time as a kid. Still does!

You are incredible, Jessica. I love listening to music - all types of music. I have been watching many, many vocal coaches and performers doing reactions in an effort to learn more about the music I love listening to and to try to develop a better understanding and appreciation for what is involved in creating it. No other reactor I have found has your level of knowledge and none of them do nearly as much analysis in their video reactions. The detailed way you break the pieces down and use visuals to help understand them is remarkable. I am learning so much. You also have a wonderful personality which comes through all of your reactions. Thank you!

Thank you for your interesting analysis and for researching so much about the song and Dimash's beloved Kazakhstan, where this festival with an audience of 150,000 waited for Dimash to sing several songs. He uses his incomparable range to serve whatever he is singing, and to share his emotions. I hope you continue to enjoy the greatest and most mysterious vocal artist of our time! ❤

Imagine my surprise to see Jess doing a Dimash reaction again, welcome back. Nice analysis, I agree with my favorite note. This video gets a lot of love because of that D-8, but I like so much more about this video. Just the overall vibe is so great. Two suggestions, both from 2017 because I know you want to see him grow, I love that BTW. You have to do Sinful Passion. This is from his channel and was done in the 2017 New Wave in Sochi. Performed with the original artists, this is an iconic Dimash song now. It opens with a beautiful journey that only Dimash can do and then ends with, well WOW kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZ92n6d-qNWcfIk.html The other video is Daybreak from his 2017 Bastau concert. The story of a child and his dreams about when he lost his parents to a cable car accident when they handed the child to rescuers just before they plunged to their depth. True story BTW. I always took daybreak to mean the nightmare was over, only to return the next night. The video gives a great idea of just how grand a Dimash concert can be. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNGKh62bsdWoZmg.html This kind of gets you through 2017, kind of, but it will do for now and you can pick up speed a little from here, only 2 or 3 videos from 2018 LOL Welcome back Jess, the Dears missed you.

This is a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo. He dreamed from then to now to meet and work with the Maestro. This was part of a program called Virtuosos, which supports young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge on the program by Maestro Domingo. I know he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are all do proud of him and hope all his dreams come true. Dimash learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mr-deMacr9Cco58.html

This is the 4th video of Dimash hitting the high whistle register. This live performance being the highest note. The other two live performances were Screaming, and Diva Dance duet in China. Those two were lower notes. And there is a music video of Dimash and his band when they were teens and he went into the whistle register with a few notes.
