Honest question here. I’ve never used dewalt but looking to start buying. I was told you can’t use flex volt batteries in non flex volt tools. Is this true? I’ve been using ryobi for many years but I’m no longer happy with the product but I’m trying to figure out exactly what to go for.
@toolrev7 сағат бұрын
Flexvolt batteries are made to be used with 20V, which I've been doing since they came out with no issues. Some people think if a tool burns out while on a 60V battery it must be the battery but then when a tool burns out on a 20V battery they blame the tool. I wouldn't worry about it. If you go Flexvolt I like the 9 amps the best as they, and the 12 amps, use the more powerful 21700 cells vs. the 6 and 15 amp Flexvolts that use 18650 cells. I like DeWalt for saws and drills and Milwaukee for their nail guns and the m18 FUEL multi-tool. I also use some of their M12 stuff.

They should delete this model. And just put spinning mops on S8.

Didn't cut very straight. I wonder if you could use a better pair of these to cut rubber hose straight?
@toolrev7 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I'd hate to blame the cutter when another user may cut straighter with better technique but that's as much effort as I put into a cut. For 1" rubber hose one of these may do well - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j515qrigxLrIqZ8.htmlfeature=shared

I'll take the compact power stack all day every day on an impact driver. No need to lug a huge battery all day long. Run time is not hindered because you can have multiple batteries charged and ready to go.

The Dewalt connects quite fast and is only $100 where I am. Milwaukee is $200-$275 here. ($209 on sale at Home Depot) Personally I prefer the Dewalt attachment it fits in my bag and hooks up fine to any impact I've tried.

Those power stacks really shine through in high torque tools that would otherwise stall out with smaller batteries- saws and drills using hole saws specifically. The 1.7 is light too for smaller applications like bandsaws or paired with atomic line tools.

Well done review brother. Thanks for taking the time. Love my OG Rockwell Jawhorse. Even though the same thing can probably happen with the engagement teeth on it it seems to be less prone and better material. I think it would take a lot of foot pressure to do it with the OG Jawhorse. I've also found if you take a small length of 2x4 you can typically use it as a base for things like bench grinders etc. The foot stirrups on the Rockwell is also nice to help give more support if needed. Anyway, qell done. Keep making and fixing things. :)

Pouch type LiPo cells (the type the PowerStack use, I believe) can usually deliver more current than cylindrical cells as they have lower internal resistance, due to the cell chemistry and the way the cells are designed. For two batteries of the same energy capacity rating (5Ah, 18/20V in this case), a pouch cell would be able to deliver higher current more efficiently (less energy wasted as heat in the battery, more power delivered to the tool). So when DeWalt claim "twice the power" they presumably are referring to that instantaneous power. For relatively modest loads, e.g. the vacuum, the current (power) delivery is fine for both battery types, so you get the same run time as they both contain the same energy: i.e. 5Ah x 18/20V.
@toolrev19 күн бұрын
No need to overthink it, they claim 50% more power and work and that's what you get. They have a lot of "not in application" caveats etc, but the bottom line is, for whatever reason, you get more work per charge when drilling or sawing.

Im waiting for milwaukee to make the chuck better I want a multitool but, I used my boss' and the dewalt multi tool and hackzall are designed way better than the milwaukee. I like milwaukee alot but, they're slacking on their saws big time. Their sawzall is still the best but the hackzall, the multitool, circular and mitre saw dewalt takes the cake. If speed is all you're after milwaukee is great. Thats their biggest gimmick "our tool does it faster" okay but do your tools last as long do your batteries perform as well in various temperature ranges? Ect. Theres so much more to tools than just the speed and the colour red!

Well, unless this is your first cordless tool purchase you're going to go with the brand that you're vested in because you've already got batteries and charger. The one design flaw I would peg on the Milwaukee is that you can't set it down vertical on the battery. Why did they angle it like that?
