Suppose you show what might be fake about taking a camera on a tripod in DeLand, Florida, 50 miles away from the launch and following the rocket all the way into space. There are hundreds of similar videos taken from all over Florida by hundreds of other photographers who are completely independent and not subject to any weirdly imagined "conspiracy" to fake space launches. I watch these every week. You can't expect to be believed if the first tool out of your bag of tricks is deception. Mine is evidence. I win.

I had the treble speakers disconnected from my subwoofer once and what I was hearing was exactly what you describe: muffled and very indistinct. I plugged the other five speakers in and suddenly I could understand the words. Hope that helps.

Hello, this is a long shot but thought I may try, you never know. There is a function or two mentioned in the manual about the compass tool on the nav map. Apparently you can draw a circle with radius shown and attach that to a target? It would then follow the target as the target moves, have you seen this? Do you know how to do it? Also, when you use the marker to "Mark 1" etc.. you can change the term to anything you want with a maximum of 18 characters, do you know how to do this? Thanks Simon

How do you want to change the units. For targeting purposes the 2000 yards to the nautical mile crutch is good enough not to miss any targets. So .6 times 2000 is 1200 yards. You, and the original real submariners, can do that in your head.

And of course you don't have a single contradiction to anything shown here. You IMMEDIATELY (spelling corrected) found something weird, but make no effort to describe what you saw that could be wrong. You surrendered your case by not making one. As far as the International Space Station, I have video of over a dozen passages, each at the precise brightness, at the exact time, across the exact course and timing predicted by Heavens-above.com and ShySafari Pro. I also can show you video of 27 different satellites in only 26 minutes of uncut video, where SkySafari predicted the path, the 600mm lens of the camera was pointed ahead of the track and you can see the satellite cross exactly where predicted. This is a really bad time to be a liar for the Flerftopian Fraud department. You Flerfs have nothing. We have proof that Google Earth shows what is really there, that ISS is absolutely real and that hundreds of satellites are orbiting the globe, with dozens of them visible every evening and morning. @15:10 I don't believe it's about minimizing torpedo work. I am pretty sure you want the 90 degree shots for other reasons. The 90 degree shot creates the widest possible sonar profile of the ship. Torpedoes with onboard sonar suites have an easier time seeing the target via active pinging when the largest amount of surface area of the ship is facing the torpedo sensors. When you're dealing with WWII era subs and earlier, your biggest concern is your torpedo glancing off the target and exploding some distance away from the target. To minimize this problem, you fire at 90 degree angles. At 90 degrees, the shot is perfect because it has a 0 percent chance of deflecting/glancing off the enemy hull. And then your main issue to worry about is the high incidence of duds during that time period.
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 2 жыл бұрын
In WWII there are no torpedoes with onboard sonar, except for the slow and easily avoided Cutie. The Cutie was designed to snag a lurking DD who was using its listening gear at low speed. It only worked a couple of times.
@shanejohns7901
@shanejohns7901 2 жыл бұрын
@@RockinRobbins13 If you bothered reading the entire post, I made that clear. With WW2 era subs and earlier, 90 degree shots are to avoid glancing. Once torpedoes got onboard sonar, 90 degree shots also serve to maximize sonar returns.

@shanejohns7901 2 жыл бұрын
@10:45 Not sure if it is modeled into the game or not, but the speed of your sub affects the wake size created by the periscope slicing through the water. The faster you are going in your sub, the stronger the wake created. A stronger wake takes longer to dissipate into the surrounding waves enough to where the human eye can no longer detect it through all the noise of the waves. And this is particularly important when it comes to airplanes being able to spot you in the water. And when you're near enough to ships, best practice is to pop the scope up, quickly take a peek around, and then bring the scope back down as quickly as possible. In other words, minimize the time the scope is up to avoid detection by nearby ships. And don't go speeding around the waters submerged with your scope up, either. I am not sure if this game models scope damage, but that is a very good way to damage your scope.
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, in Silent Hunter 4 your visibility with scope up is profoundly affected by your speed. The damage aspect isn't replicated, so far as I can tell. I have always erred on the side of accuracy instead of safety when shooting and won't shoot with the scope down. I shoot, then lower the scope to wait for the booms when shooting at warships. I try not to shoot at warships. The war ends when Japanese merchants are no more.

When I see this, double moons, multiple moons, I think we here on Earth got a bit shortchanged in the night sky department.
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 2 жыл бұрын
If you think about it, for looking at interplanetary, galactic and intergalactic space, called planetary observing and deep sky observing by amateur astronomers, all that depends on a dark sky without the Moon present in the sky to have enough contrast to see those things. Now I haven't worked out the angular sizes, and you couldn't set up a telescope on a planet with no surface (as in the gas giants) but imagine being on Europa, with at least three bright moons of Jupiter in the sky at the same time. It would be a rare opportunity to do any deep sky observing. I wonder how Mars works out? The two moons are very close in and very small as well. I'll work out the math and report in!
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 2 жыл бұрын
Okay, I find my work is already done for me over at mathscinotes dot com on May 1, 2013. From Earth, both the Sun and moon are always in the neighborhood of half a degree in angular size. Bur from Mars, the Sun has an angular size of only .35 degrees. And both Phobos and Deimos are much smaller in apparent size than the Moon from Earth. Phobos has an angular size of .136 degrees as seen from Mars' surface, and Deimos is only .03 degrees in angular size. So Phobos looks only 39% of the diameter of the Sun and Deimos is only 8.5% of the diameter of the Sun. From Mars there are no total eclipses then. And obviously the light from those moons would be a tiny percentage of the light we get from the Moon. Looks like a great place to set up an observatory!

Since the sun has the strongest mass while it’s still circling the earth, the other planets are trying to orbit the sun instead because it has that stronger gravitational pull. But since the sun is moving they have that weird pattern
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 3 жыл бұрын
You have to remember that everything in the solar system orbits the Sun, which contains more than 99.5% of the mass of the entire system. It's entirely impossible for the Sun to _really_ orbit the Earth. Actually both orbit the barycenter of the two bodies, which is deep inside the Sun. This is merely showing the real motions of the Solar System as seen from Earth. Where you are always seems not to be moving, even when you're going down the highway at 100 mph in your car. Your senses travel with the car and it appears that everything else is moving. Of course, you got in the car when its speed was zero and you remember than, so your brain can assign movement to what you see is not moving: the car you're in. People have no problems with driving a car but pretend to have problems with the universe looking like it's moving from a moving "car." In fact, astronomy began with the assumption that Earth didn't move. The things we found made it impossible to hang on to that notion without laughing.
