I live in Hong Kong and have hiked to those mountain bunkers many times, saw the ruins but could not imagine that there were actually such intense battles around them. This documentary opened my mind on what happened in those mountains, in those bunkers, places that today are popular recreational areas.. Crazy to see the people who committed the atrocities will never regret what they did, and the people who suffered them kept being respectful.

Volunteers to a man. The UK was lucky to have allies like Canada, Australia, India and new Zealand, heaven only knows what the planet would be like had we no such support. Before Russia and the US were attacked and joined in....

Wow. It’s 2024 and the CAF is still underfunded and undermanned. The similarities are still the same; 1. The current government thinks it’s helping out and it isn’t. 2. The opposition party thinks it can do better and it never does. 3. Only retired senior officers will speak out against what is bad and what needs to improve the CAF, but they don’t do it while they are in. If this news clip is around in 10 years I will predict that it will be the same, no matter who is in charge. Truly a sad situation.

Proudly Canadian, and I hope to see HMCS Magnificent in a game called Azur Lane to allow other fellow Canadians to connect with her, and other Canadian vessels. I"ve been trying to suggest Canadians be properly added into WW2 naval games, they sadly refuse. Hope to see Maggie in a game called Azur Lane. I'm glad to learn more about our navy, hence why I'm here watching this video, among other RCN related videos.

It was destroyed because of jealousy, it was the BEST. I feel sorry for all the men and women who spent countless hours to design and build and perfect it . Canada was tricked and betrayed .

Thought this documentary was good when I first saw it, then I learned the creators made stuff up, took accounts out of context and didn't do any proper research in the making of this and just did it to push a false narrative of anti British and anti leadership. Same goes for the other two episodes in this series.

Part of the problem is that the Canadian procurement process is incredibly Byzantine. Also, shipbuilding is extremely political because of where the dockyards are.

Too bad real names are not listed in comments. I spent 27 years in the RCN/CF. St, Laurent, and most of Helo carrying DDH's with VX !0 Hauldown calibrations, Maggie, Shearwater Crash boat #208, Bonaventure. Anyone remember my neighbour. Stu Tock? Anyone remember burial at sea of Bonnie's Engineering Officer during South American cruise?Somethings you nevrt forget. What about Tracker crash on Tower hill, pilot Caldwell? He almost had a similar event in Toronto years later. Turn on KZfaq and play Heart of Oak. PS: Never out the word "the" before HMCS!

An immense disaster, a tremendous fiasco that caused thousands of senseless Canadian deaths, due to the poor tactical preparation of the attack. The German commanders said it was just a joke, even the French population assumed that they were not going to get anywhere and remained hidden, even Hitler rewarded the city of Dieppe with many millions in money for not having intervened. The culprits were those of the British high command.

Interesting fact. After the reputation the Canadian military had after World War 1, in World War two the allied forces would trick the Germans into thinking the Canadian military was elsewhere, rather than the oncoming forces they were about to meet !

An error right at the start. A V Roe had been in existance since 1910, set up in Manchester, England. It's type 500 were flown by the Royal Flying Corps in 1913. It was A V Roe (Canada} that was set up in 1945 as a subsidiary by British company Hawker Sidderley.

I've been watching the front line doctors and medics in ukraine. This is hard to watch in comparison because the tempo is so slow everyone is standing around, saying 15 mins till incoming casualty. I bet a hospital in johansburg sees more war injuries than this kandahar hospital. Better pray NATO never has to fight Russia and these guys are saved the slaughter.

I have the original files of the Avro Arrow, and I have yet!!! to see any numbers that say the Avro Arrow could fly further and faster than a brand-new aircraft of today. The Avro Arrow was designated a Fighter Jet and an Interceptor and dated as far back as 1949. If the Avro Arrow had survived beyond 1962, then you could argue facts. Canada is a Nuclear Free Nation inside its borders, but outside Canada is still working with Nukes. We may not own them, but the 35 was designed to carry and deliver them. Hence the reason the 35 has been chosen and they were not giving up on it.
