I want to ski some of those runs. That steep groomer looks like a blast, and some of those chutes look great. Anyway to add the resort and the name of the run to each segment?? I think I noticed Tower 3 chute at JH.
@SRGSkiing
@SRGSkiing 5 күн бұрын
Yep, Tower 3 was in there. Direct Chute at Palisades was featured as well, and the steep groomer was The Wall at Kirkwood (which is very rarely groomed jsyk). If there's any other specific runs you'd like to know, time stamp it and I'll do my best to tell you what it is. We've been discussing labeling runs for this coming season's videos, and will most likely be implementing that change for videos beginning in September.
@juryacquittal
@juryacquittal 5 күн бұрын
@@SRGSkiing I have skied the Wall of Kirkwood and normally parts of it (like the middle part) is crazy wind swept with sharp edges that looks like something not of this world like from a sci-fi movie of another planet. What a great experience to have been able to ski it while grommed. Also would be nice if they put a high spped detachable up to the right of Glove Rock to expand more lift served territory. The blues under TC Express are worthless for carving at a decent speed and the Suunrise Chair is kinda boring. I hope they expand more terrain as it is a decent mountain in a few spots.

I would add that the two times I skiied Marvin Gardens rather than going down the main bowl the snow there was much more windswept than the main part of Spaulding. To the point that it was scarier to ski it than the double blacks with better snow.

Great commentary. Question..What are your thoughts on taking Treasure Stoke lift to take trails s-turn to pitchs gate to orions beltway to lower feather duster..Ill then kick to Elliot Parkway (is the kick really that bad?) to Alberta lift to take a short stint on cyote park trail to make that turn into park avenue to navajo trail so i can get back on Treasure Stoke lift. Im trying to get these really long runs that arent too advanced. I want to keep it all blues and greens. Also whats the difference between the end of Orions Beltway (blue) to where it merges with Abracadabra (black)? Is the end of Orions beltway really a (black)?
@SRGSkiing
@SRGSkiing 12 күн бұрын
The first run would take you down to Charity. Elliot runs Alberta-->Charity. That first run is also mostly traverses, but if you're fine with that, go for it. You'll have to ride up Charity to get back to Alberta, but after that, the next run looks good. No, lower Orion is not a black. It's poorly depicted on the trail map, but that section won't give you issues.

Improving Heavenly Ski Resort could involve several strategic enhancements to elevate the overall experience for visitors: Infrastructure and Facilities: Invest in upgrading lift systems to reduce wait times and improve access to slopes. Enhance snowmaking capabilities to ensure consistent coverage throughout the season. Terrain Expansion: Develop new trails and terrain parks to cater to a variety of skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. Lodge and Amenities: Upgrade and expand lodge facilities to accommodate more guests comfortably. Improve dining options with diverse menus that cater to different dietary preferences. Customer Experience: Implement technology solutions such as online ticketing, interactive trail maps, and mobile apps for real-time updates on weather conditions and lift operations. Environmental Sustainability: Commit to eco-friendly practices such as energy-efficient infrastructure, waste reduction programs, and promoting responsible skiing practices. Year-Round Activities: Explore opportunities to attract visitors during the offseason with activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and special events like concerts and festivals. Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create a vibrant community atmosphere that supports both visitors and residents alike. By focusing on these areas, Heavenly Ski Resort can enhance its appeal, improve visitor satisfaction, and establish itself as a premier destination for winter sports enthusiasts year-round.

I definitely want to see SRG cover it directly, but there are a few references to it in some of the Canada videos here, and PeakRankings has a pretty solid 15m review about the facilities and snow as well. Just a note I picked up from the SRG guide to EPIC vs IKON though, I agree with SRG that you do have to factor in the seasonal weather when doing Whistler.

Good video concept. It’s hard to pick a winner I think it really depends on expert skiers vs family and beginner skiers. A couple things I’ve heard about heavenly though out the years. 1. Prior to Vail buying the place there was a future plan to put in a quad from bottom of sky/canyon to the bottom of tamarack. I think that this lift is more likely to happen compared to the lift you both proposed. 2. Galaxy express was allegedly looked into a few years back when the old galaxy lift broke, however they decided against it because there is no power grid infrastructure at the base and would have a significant cost to install. So galaxy high speed is probably out of the question for several more years. 3. Vail really doesn’t want to spend money at this resort it will likely be years before we see any more significant upgrades sadly. In the next probably 3-5 years when comet is due for replacement (it’s now the oldest high speed in Vail’s lift fleet) it will likely just be a terminal replacement.

Some people might not care abt this comment but i’ll say it anyhow. This year was the most amazing ski season of my life (keep in mind i’m only 12 but i’ve been exposed to skiing in places like jackson since i was walking.) I’ve honestly never been very good at skiing, but this year that would all change. My season started later than most when my friend invited me to Aspen (he is loaded). I went in having skied mott canyon once (heavenly resort area) and that was the only time i touched a double black. My friend honestly might be the best skier I know and before i knew it i was flying in powder on deep temerity having the time of my life (Snowmass, Ajax, and Highlands were amazing) After 6 days i flew home a changed skier. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, about a 4-12 (when it’s a brutal snowy night) hour drive lol, closer to 4 80% of the time. My parents missed are place in Jackson Hole so they decided to buy a house in Lake Tahoe about 20 minutes from Palisades (famously hard resort). when the house was ready, we went up for spring break, i was ready for a week of fun. I ended up improving so much throughout the rest of the season at both Palisades and Alpine Meadows skiing some of the hardest runs in the country for an example National Chute, an chute on the famous palisades, hike to terrain. over the season i racked up 16 days as a student with a late start and they were the best 16 days of my life to be honest. with my new found love of extreme skiing came an obsession, and i can’t wait for it all over again next season!

Judging by the trail map if Powderbowl Express goes out of service in the early morning, most people are basically screwed because there is no redundancy other than a long drive to the other side of the mountain. Edit: I've just realised I forgot about the gondola. There is no line on Google Maps so I simply forgot about it until I looked at the trail map again after I posted XD
