U.S its 13k. Sucks you in canada gotta pay an extra 3k. I wouldn't be buying it then. I would have to go for the 2021-2023 gen 3. Love the bike itself gonna be a blast from hell to own and ride. Also, TST is already in production stage for windscreen. Bike looks great people need to get over the headlights. You dont see them, They went for a sleek modern look. It has been dubbed the Iron man. You now get a gen 3 up/down quickshifter, dual portion seat instead of the ugly 1 piece, 5 inch TFT display. Cruise control, auto cancelling turn signals, inverted forks(adjustable) and maps. Etc.

FWIW, I have a XR650L for 18yrs, been great as a trail bike but lately considering the DR (which has a cush drive rear wheel) for more comfort on the road to the trails..the XRL does not have cush drive rear wheel and is tiring at hiway speed..I believe it makes a difference..have a Vstrom 650 for longer trips but sucks at anything tougher than forest roads..hoping the DR splits the difference between the XRL and Vstrom..

Rob - Did you ever do any more to secure the rad guards? Mine arrived from Ali Express and took some dremel grinding in 2 places on the carbon rad guards to make the OEM inner plastic panels fit into the carbon rad guards, but as you know the rad guards are missing several tabs to secure the 2 pieces together. I'm thinking about either permanently epoxying them together, or maybe try epoxying tabs to the new rad guards to try to make the fitment like OEM. If you still have yours mostly taped on, how is it holding up?

@@itsadyerthing Are you saying you got carbon fiber rad guards from Yamaha Europe?? I had no idea Yamaha was making carbon fiber parts for the MT-10!
@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 2 ай бұрын
@jeffgehman8344 no. Rad guard is the metal mesh. I think you're referring to the side pieces that attach to the rad and hold your flashers. Yeah they are junk ans a bish to deal with cause they do not attach to the inner plastic portion. I ended up ordered a 2nd set of inners and glued then to the carbon bits and then took some 3k carbon gloss wrap and wrapped the inner portion to match up with the outer section nicely. Worked like a charm. But yeah. Low quality.. and the flashers a get floppy so very easily now ! On the fence to swapping them out too. Most of the carbon bits are meh. I would not buy them if I had the choice again.
@jeffgehman8344
@jeffgehman8344 Ай бұрын
@@itsadyerthing Rob - Thanks again for the reply. Yes, you're right that I was referring to the panels that hold the flashers - the ones you say were the focal point reason for your whole CF build. I ended up cutting 4 small aluminum tabs (0.5" x 0.25" x 1/8" tick) and epoxying them to the new CF flasher panels in exactly the right spot to make the OEM inside panels fit securely to the new CF panels. Sooo ... it can be done! Albeit very time consuming and a PITA! 🙂

I have owned 2 DR650s, and currently own a '24 T7. One DR, a '91, was the test mule for White Brothers when they were developing all their parts for the bike. Got their piston, carb kit, cams, battery eliminator, the whole works. Also had rebuilt rear frame and was fitted with XR seat, fuel tank, rear fender, etc, which I did myself. WB used it as a development bike while I was overseas, in Germany. The second one I had much more recently and only had a jet kit. In any case, on dirt (forrest/logging) roads, I like the T7 way better, and it is massively better on the street. When you start getting into rougher terrain, the extra seat height and weight aren't as welcome. A major point though, the standup ergonomics on the T7 are terrific, after fitting larger IMS Rally pegs. The location of the pegs and bars are in the right place. The DR ergos are intended for sit-down riding. So anytime the terrain calls for standing, I still prefer the T7.

I wish there were more reports on this because I have noticed the same thing between my 20s EVO and the 50S can't seem to fix it in the noise control settings, but this 50S has been the biggest disappointment I have ever purchased. I got mine back in 2020 the battery was absolute trash out of the box (it would last maybe 30min) and Sena did not help me, I ended up buying a new battery off alibaba and replacing it myself. I haven't tried the mesh but with intercoms it's significantly quieter than my 20S whether on the HK base or the normal base. This was the biggest fail out of their tech department Hell if my 10S worked on this mount it would probably outperform the 50S. I have mostly stuck with my 20S but if majority of my friends didn't have sena I would have jumped ship a long time ago to Cardo.

@itsadyerthing

Floats on smallest body of water, smooth and very lightweight! Do buy one used at a lower price vs new, that was my father's only mistake since we had none in the region. If you're looking for a canoe style boat that you can rig on a OB and get into tight spaces it's great. But she is a bit tippy so if your a tad nervous on water and how it rocks then a john boat would be better for stand up fishing.. you'll for sure need a extension of some sort for seat pads cause the seats are low. But it's a ok boat. Not my choice but a well made craft..

@itsadyerthing 3 ай бұрын
These are truly universal for all models and don't even need to be yamaha. Now some models will provide you the option to do a plug and play into a designated port that is controlled by ignition. But for those models that do not have such option then you can connect direct to the battery as the grips also come with a smart feature. Now...... these grips don't get that warm !!!! So personally I would suggest you look at the Oxford Heaterz heated grips they have the sport ones. These ones get hot !!!! Very lovel and also would connect directly to battery and have smart control so you don't kill your power to your bike if you accidentally left on. Only thing that is truly different is the power control box is external from the grip so you need to find a location for it. Generally it's at the bottom of the mirror stem. But I will promise you, you can use either one but will be more satisfied with the Oxford !!! Cheers Rob.

@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 3 ай бұрын
@stevegaines-vq3bd then yes your best option if you have no space for mount is on the grip itself. Yamaha is one and Coso is another. This way you're enjoying grips vs thick gloves....

Rob ... I 'think' you needed to drill holes in the bottom of your carbon "rear seat side panels" to mount your top case rack, and if so how did the drilling of them go? Thanks ... Looks great!
@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 3 ай бұрын
Nonono absolutely not. The side lower seats attached to the main plastic side covers and are in front of where the mounting points are for the factory rear rack. This rack is from yamaha not the same as first generation of mt10 where if you went aftermarket youde be using the sides.. this rear rack is the exact same for mt09 2nd gen and for both Gen mt10. It's the Yamaha one. If you looking aftermarket then go with 2nd gen 2017 to 2020 mt09. It will work on you mt10 with the 4 mounting location underneath. There are pre marked sections on the plastic black factory under covers showing where you cut. This allows access to the mounting points in your subframe. Here's a oldie but a goodie. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i6doZsKep5ORaas.htmlsi=M2DBDxYw1zMFaFNw

@@itsadyerthing Thank you, and after looking up under the sides again I'm sorry I bothered you with the silly question! Thank you for answering, tho! Oh, one more please: I find the MT-10 SP to be easily the most difficult bike to keep clean that I've ever had! The black surfaces show every spec of dirt, and the lack of a fairing means bugs splat on all kinds of intricate, hard-to-reach surfaces that never get hit on a bike with a fairing ... anyway, my question is: Do you think the carbon surfaces are better at hiding dirt? ... ie less likely to show every little spec? Thanks again ...
