How can the detectives say that when he was at his mom's funeral he was crying like a little schoolboy?? I won't get into it but I actually walked in on my mother passed away it was very difficult... I'm not an emotional person but that's family...🤘☕🚬

This man loved us all. We should start a religion devoted to Gein to show him the worship and praise he is so worthy of.

I know there's debate on whether Ed Gein actually was a serial killer, but he's always fascinated me because of the horrific nature of his crimes and how he didn't seem sane enough to fully understand what he was doing. Is there anything to read/watch on his home life, and diagnoses at the mental hospital? I feel like a lot of documentaries focus on the gruesomeness of his crimes but I'm more interested in how his mother treated him from his account and what kind of schizophrenia he had. Obviously he did some absolutely terrible stuff, but did he actually enjoy killing people? To me it seemed like he just needed the bodies, I wonder if he actually understood that killing was wrong.

I don't remember where I read this but he was supposedly a pleasant enough man in the hospital but showed the occasional glimpse of something not quite right about him. I'm assuming he was probably medicated quite a bit in these latter years.

In Ed Gein's time, there were over 87,000 Satanists in Wisconsin. I don't think Ed Gein did those horrible things on his own.

Psychologically speaking, the ones who should be seen as warped are the ones who made the movies, exaggerated details for thrill seekers, and prospered off of the severity of the situations. How does someone get so excited when they're talking about which characteristics would fit into a thriller? I mean...Really? How low do you have to go to scrap the bottom of society's barrel to reach that level of deranged? More than Ed ever did, that's for sure. True, he wasn't exactly what anyone could call 'right in the head' but ghouls like this thinking that they're the sane ones is pretty messed up shit. Point to be noted: Ed wasn't a serial killer. He doesn't fit the criteria.

She probably had heard stories but could not have known the extent of the abuse he faced at home. Ed probably saw her as a substitute for his mom. I think he just went crazy over the fact that his mother would control him even from beyond the grave.
