I don't have a Caterham, I have a Westfield (I can hear the boos from here), but my wings are bonded on and need to be replaced so this has come in really handy! Thanks very much for posting it. I will definitely be watching more of your vids 👌

Hello, thank you for the video. I have a 2019 420R Duratec, dry sump with a dipstick attached to the cap of the tank. When the car was last serviced I checked the oil level using the dipstick the day after the car was back home, so when the engine was cold. The reading on the dipstick was within the high and low marks as you might expect. Now, less than 400 road miles later, and after about three weeks without driving the car, I can see oil at the bottom of the tank but it doesn’t even reach the dipstick. It doesn’t leak so I’m 99% sure it has enough oil but not according to the dipstick. I encountered this some months ago and added some oil and was told at the service that it was a bit overfilled, not that it matters too much within reason. The question is, is it normal for the oil to drop to a level undetectable by the dipstick if the car hasn’t been run for a while? (And a question for Caterham Cars would be why can’t they make this easier?!)

What are the differences in driving dynamics between the s3 and sv chassis?

Hello 👋 Very minimal - it’s more about how one fits in the car. A small person in an SV, for example, might “rattle around” a bit. R vs S spec will have more of an effect. We did a film a while ago about choosing a chassis size, and we have plans to do an R vs S soon. Really, there’s no substitute for visiting your local dealer and taking various cars out for test drive 😀

It’s always possible to swap engines in a Caterham. Specifically with a Kwak’ one? We couldn’t tell you. Something to search 👀 😊

Hello! Yes, if you're buying them for fitting yourself they're £380 excluding VAT. Installation is quite easy, yes. Any practical owner should be fine with it 😊 (our video man did his own Caterham lights, and he claims to be 'incompetent at DIY' 🤣) And lastly, yes, they have an E marking. We've sent quite a few into various EU countries 👍

Hi Can you tell me what the difference is between a caterham with a lowered floor and a normal floor. Are you limited on where you drive with a lowered floor?

The trick is to sit in the drivers seat and ask someone else to put the hood up. I have a tonneau cover on my old 1700 crossflow. It is easy to put on and I can leave it half on when I am alone. It is lovely and warm with the heater on in winter. Note, this is not good solution if you have leather seats. I have an older car with bench seats which I can pull out and take indoors if they get wet. Less is more.

This is incredibly useful, thanks for such a detailed video. You've got a new subscriber :) I have an issue with one of my cycle wings where it seems to be too close to the wheel - not sure if its been sat on or knocked and slightly bent, whether the fibreglass is poorly shaped or what. Noticed it when strapping it to a trailer. The indicator repeater as a result has been torn out a couple of times by straps and then driving. Noticed the tire sometimes rubs the cycle wing too though i see no meaningful wear on tire or tread thankfully. I don't need the repeater so I will just get two new cycle wings and bond them on as shown. If i find the cycle wing is still very close to the tire, do you have any tips to adjust it without bending or buying and fitting a new cycle wingstay (the frame itself)? Perhaps something to pack out more of a gap?

Hello! We wouldn't recommend bending the stay or packing it out really. Both are going to produce sub-standard, and possibly unsafe, results. Best to get the right sized stays for the wheels and tyres.
