Is this a waltz ?
@ThePickingPythagorean2 күн бұрын
Technically you could call it a waltz. It's in 12/8 so that is certainly a three count beat, which is the Waltz beat. I don't know if anyone would mistake it for the Blue Danube, but I would be really interested to hear this song orchestrated as a traditional waltz. Strauss Jr. style. I bet it would sound great.

This must be one of the best covers I've ever heard, the big man himself would have been proud of it. You got yourself a new subscriber. A quick question about the tab, are the "X"s just simply palm muted, or do you also mute them with your left hand? Or do you only mute them with your left? Thanks in advance, keep rocking hoss!
@ThePickingPythagorean15 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, that is such a kind thing to say. And the Xs are muted completely. So, left hand just lay it across the frets, and the right hand just a strum. So, muted with both hands. Oh, and Welcome to the Channel!!!!!

How did you get this great tone?
@ThePickingPythagorean26 күн бұрын
Well, first of all, thank you for the compliment. And that's a good question. I'll have to say I don't know. I ran it straight into the DAW, and added a little compression, and I think an amp emulator. This one was a while back when I didn't have as much equipment. And then that Fender Bass just has a nice sound. It's a MIM, but the pickups still sound top notch on it. I did practice this for quite a few days, so maybe it's about getting really comfy with it.
@bognasty851228 күн бұрын
Question for ya, if I’m improvising a solo, with the key of the song transposed to the key of E, what scales would you use?
@ThePickingPythagorean28 күн бұрын
I would say the E blues scale, and the E Major Pentatonic scale. And, if you want to play part of the original solo in E, just simply move everything down 2 frets. The song is in Gb because everything is tuned down. So, everything I'm playing on the video should be brought down a whole step (from Gb to E) or 2 frets on the guitar, if you're playing in E Major.
