Thank you for bringing joy to the lives of thousands. I am so grateful for all the laughs, the tears, and the wise words. If it weren't for you, I might have given up on my stories. I'm currently working on book 2 and feeling more determined than ever. Stay awesome, Bettina Leve.

This actually made me cry cause this feels so close to now. I'm glad we don't live in this world but i do miss the sound of frogs. They didn't come yet this summer and i fear they might not come back. The frog swamp spot is drying up in this heat i can see the dirt below stained green by algae. I haven't heard the mourning doves they refused to call this year but I've glimpsed rock doves. I'm not hearing cicadas but that's to be expected. And yet the bees, the carpenter, honey, and small fuzzy yellow bees are back. I'd missed them so much. The birds are singing and the rabbits are out again. The corn across my road sustained the return of cardinals. I live in the countryside yet everything seems to have left. Maybe it was the fires or the pollution. And i lacked hope but seeing this comic, reminded me of nature existing again around me. I'd gone numb from silence of fall through spring. I grew numb to the missing sound of frogs and crows not calling. Yet today i feel more hopeful. Hopeful that tomorrow the nature heals more. The future is unstable and unpredictable. There's always a piece of randomized RNG to it. However today the chances seem bright and maybe tomorrow it'll be grey. But perhaps grey isn't bad. Just maybe perhaps grey just signals the incoming rains that'll revive the dry land. Maybe grey means the fur of new born bunnies, or the down of snow geese babies. Perhaps grey means the sun will come tomorrow but today the storm is waking up all the little salamanders and lizards. And as the water falls on their tiny heads maybe the grey and the quiet will once more return loud. It's just a thought and maybe that's all i need, a thought to pull me out of the numbness and make me see, that the world is healing in more ways than one. Maybe time will make it okay again. But that's for tomorrow today is now and now i think I'll open the blinds and watch the seed birds rip apart their treats from the trees.

Amusingly there is actually a good reason for why the imagery used in icons to represent a function don't change even as the technology they represent becomes so obsolete that it is unlikely that younger generations will ever encounter them in their lives. It's simply because the imagery used in the icon became so inextricably linked with the function it represents *before* the technology that it represented went out of fashion that it would be *more* confusing to suddenly replace it with a different image, even to people who never knew what the technology the icon was referencing was. Everybody knows what the "save" icon looks like, so when you open a new program you haven't used before and want to save your file, you can recognize it, if they went to an image of a CD or whatever instead, you'd have a majority of your users assuming you just can't save, or getting frustrated when they can't find the save function. This is actually a pretty important thing in UX/UI (user experience/user interface) since the important thing in using a visual shorthand to represent the function is that people can recognize what the image is a shorthand *for* and when they can't find a necessary function in your user interface, it creates a negative user experience, which obviously means it is bad design. Pro-tip, if a majority of your users are frustrated by the experience of using your product, you have a bad design, which is not something you'd expect people designing products to need to be told.

I always though papyrus to be the weaker brother due to him being naive and what not, but when watching this, listening to Matpat, and watching disbelief papyrus [which is a fan animation] i genuinely think papyrus is just as strong if not stronger than sans. He just doesn't show that because he doesn't like being that aggressive for no reason. He sees no real reason to actually kill you, he just wants to capture you. Plus him being naive, Like- i'm pretty sure he'll truly want to kill something thats genuinely a threat to him, his brother, or his friends, he just has to realize its a threat. But because of him being so gullible, so naive, so.. *innocent* ...he takes a while to notice an actual threat when in the genocide route.

Just saying: Spain is roughly the height of Canada/New England. Europe only survives due to a single current bringing warm water up here. Meanwhile it's so rainy because all the tornadoes and storms from the US and Canada travel across the Atlantic to die in Ireland, and to a lesser extent Britain and the Netherlands. That's why all these people complain about the weather so much. So much so it's become an inherent part of socializing.

2:04 Us Dutch have that as well. And as a Dutch Half-Irishman I know I'm against the UK, but as an EU citizen first and foremost siding with US in an internet battle was a tough choice to make. One I did make. Because you see, I'm not here for the US to win, I'm here for the UK to lose. Insert that one Gimli/Legolas meme here. You know the one. With an EU flag saying: "Never thought I'd die fighting for the Americans." The US flag then saying: "How about AGAINST the British?" And then an Irish/Dutch hybrid flag saying: "Aye, I could do that."

This reminds me of Wayne from Brandon Sandersons Wax and Wayne series. Wayne is a master of disguise who essentially knows everything about a person's life if he puts on their hat. He is constantly running from his own past and wants to live someone else's life instead of his own which he believes is not worth living.
