Hi Julie, I just made some avocado buttons. I was wondering if you wash your clothing with these buttons.. does it give off color? As avocado pits are also used as a natural dye. If yes, is there a way to prevent the color from leaching onto the fabric? Is there like a natural and durable way to seal the avocado buttons so they can endure washing and don't / or no longer give off color? What has your experience been like, after using them for some time now? Kind regards, L

Hi Julie, what a clever idea , I give all my avocado nuts to the squirrels, never thought that would be any use for anything else, apart from trying to grow them, my only problem would be , what will happen if you are washing the item in the washing machine .
@fromRAGtoFASHIONJulieWillaert15 күн бұрын
Hi Zusy, I hope that you are fine! Thank you for your comment. Giving them to squirrels is also great. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of squirrels where I live. :( That is actually a valid concern. I am still working on the dress for which I want to use this. I know avocado pits can dye fabric pink, but these have dried for a few weeks. So, the question is if dried avocado pits will still do this? 😊 I will try this once the dress is finished and let you know!

Dog beds are so expensive in bigger sizes. But i dont have any sewing experience. I will snatch myself a memory foam from small ads and will try this out!! The white dog doing many circles before laying down and then checking and licking the private parts reminds me of my dog. Its really funny and cute!!
@kevinorr6880Ай бұрын
I wonder how durable the buttons are?
@fromRAGtoFASHIONJulieWillaertАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Avocado pits are surprisingly durable. The pits, when properly dried and treated, harden significantly, making them resistant to wear and tear. However, like any natural material, they can be sensitive to extreme moisture or harsh conditions. With regular use, they should hold up well, maintaining their unique appearance and strength.

Nice! Thanks for the video, I've been looking for something like this and your video was without a doubt the closest to what I had in mind 👌 I'm a 25 year old guy, I've been sewing some 1900's military uniforms for hobbies in the past, but now I have this desert camouflage "jacket" (technically called a BDU) which is more or less just a thin shirt - I thought it could be nice to add some sort of lining like yours into it 🤔 At least I now know how, thanks to you!

Great design, Julia Willaert 🧵 It’s the best I’ve found, I’m making one for my chonky cat 🐈 I vote for adopting a dog from a shelter! Getting a dog from a breeder is no guarantee of health or behavior and the shelters are _BURSTING_ with lovely dogs who need a loving home 💕

You made this project very easy to understand. I am making dog beds for the dogs the in the county shelter. I will use your instructions to make the ones I see next. These poor dogs are in small pens for all but about 30 minutes a day when they are walked by volunteers. There are so many, I’m sure a lot get left out even for the 30 minutes. Please consider adopting from a shelter. There are so many awesome dogs. I’ve volunteered at about four shelters and I wish I could adopt them all. They deserve a loving home and a dog mom like you that will sew them a beautiful dog bed.
