Your qualifications list is misleading. They do not have to reside in a nursing home. They only need to medically prove the need for assistance with ADL's, whether in a nursing home or in their own home.

Hi General, Sometimes you don't get what you think you deserve . I'm 100% PT for a head injury while in service. I was a Pathfinder in the 82nd and on an A-Team in 7th Group. I had a head injury while attending USMAPS in August 1978.I was comatose for several weeks or months ,I've had a poor quality of life since then. I've applied for SMC Aid & Attendance but was denied.

you cannot receive a service-related disability rating and/or check and still qualify for A&A. You can be disabled just not service related. It is intended for Social Security recipients or low income only.

Also, you do not have to be in a nursing home, as the video said in its list of qualifications. You do have to prove that you have a medical need for assistance with ADL's (not a service-related disability that you receive a VA check for), whether you live in your own home or in a nursing home, it does not matter.

It doesn’t mater if you VA won’t approve aid and attendance

Only other income I have besides my100 % service connection is social security. Would that be subtracted from my MAPR?

Seeing someone you care about suffer from memory loss and confusion may be emotionally draining. You've determined that memory care is the greatest type of help your loved one need and will provide them with the finest quality of life. In this blog, we will go over the following stages, providing you with the information and tools you need to make the best decisions for your loved one. We all want our loved ones to get sensitive care and the appropriate level of attention, just like Mom did while staying at silvergaterr.

I have just made the decision to move my Mom to a Memory Care facility. She is currently in stage 5 of Dementia. I work from home so I was able to take care of her, but she needs more care than I can provide. I will be contacting A Place for Mom tomorrow. I have an assessment schedule with her doctor on Sept 18th. This is all new to me. I look forward to working with the staff. Thank you for your videos with such great advice.

Stupid company… only marketing to 50% of the population… I guess there’s a nice place for mom - as for Dad . . . I guess he just gets thrown over the fence lol

Ah, for once a spot from this organization that doesn’t make me squirm over placing a parent in long term care. Kudos to the vision maker.
