"Within" sounds so psychedelic. It's perfect on "Psycho Circus". A soulheavy song. Paul wrote Gene was the favourite of the producer Bruce Fairbairn. He really made him sound good.

Love this song. I never used to be able to figure out the timing of the opening guitar. Then I realized that (like Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love), he makes a variation of the opening riff the second time through.

Gene has four great songs on "Hot In The Shade". I love "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell" "Love's a Slap In The Face" and "The Street Giveth...". But "Cadillac Dreams" is my Gene favourite song on this album. It rocks💥 and it's absolutely Gene's life motto. His self-irony is so amuzing😂: "I need money, money. More than I need". A honest, funny song. I love it

I'd add Betrayed to that! I think if H.I.T.S. had been 11 songs, ditching Read My Body, Rise To It, Prisoner Of Love, and Boomerang then it would have been much more warmly received. Those four would have made great b-sides for singles...

@@bigchucklyricvideo I'm going to try it again with "Betrayed". But "Read My Body" I wouldn't want to miss. The singing/talking style I usually don't like. But I like the "different" sounding Paul. The lyrics are acceptable when you remember Olivia Newton-John: "Let me hear your body talk, your body talk". And I think, she even won a Grammy.

I just find Read My Body a bit cringy, same with Bang Bang You. Still not as bad as Christeen Sixteen though - That just makes my skin crawl nowadays...

Probably the same people who bought the single in '71 then bashed KISS in 1977. Gene is a Beatles fan. I bet, Ringo Starr inspired him. But meanwhile, it's "Christine Sixty"😂 Paul said: "And she's still younger than we are"😂 What people want to hear, when KISS make a more drastical aggressive Rock version (Bang, Bang You) all of a sudden they are shocked. But, it is like it is. Do you remember Mick Jagger: "I'll stick my knife right down your throat, baby"? And people were having fun at the concert when he performed to strangle the woman with his scarf. That's why I defend the KISS lyrics. Because of the fairness.
