I have been fighting this move for years, do I go through my hands or do I pull my hands off the obstacle before I try and push my legs through?
@Junawhat
@Junawhat 2 ай бұрын
If I were to break this down into steps: Step 1: Place your hands on obstacle Step 2: Keep arms/shoulders locked Step 3: Bend knees and jump (hips up) Step 4: Pull down/back using finger tips Step 5: Bring Knees to your chest Step 6: Land on the balls of your feet Step 7: Lift arms up to balance Think of getting your knees above the obstacle first then aim to land on your toes/front of the foot. Message me on IG and maybe I can see your form and give some pointers. You got this 👊🏼 IG: junawhat

I can do standing backflips but I can't get the side flip, I guess I never seen someone brake it down like that so thank you, and if I get Fu(&Ed I'll send you the video lol
@Junawhat
@Junawhat 2 ай бұрын
@dudesrocks Standing backflip is somewhat easier to learn because you get a lot of momentum from your arms and your chest can get really high if you block/set the height well. The sideflip is harder to do while standing because you have to understand how to lift your chest. The only way to get your chest up with a sideflip is to use your non-dominant arm to throw up. Throwing one arm down while throwing the other one up naturally rotates your body.. and with a jump it makes a sideflip. You got this! And please do sent me a video on IG of your attempts so I can see the problems that you mentioned 🙏🏼 IG: junawhat

I appreciate that a lot! I don’t skateboard nearly as much as I should but THIS method helped me get over the fear of skating. I truly believe that we can ALL learn anything if we just try to understand everything more~ Skateboards are just awesome in general 🔥

Most people don’t have a background in parkour which helped me find a different way to look at skateboarding. I’m sure there are more effective and efficient ways to learn but I’m making this video for those that are scared to try so they understand what’s happening. Skateboard is terrifying when you first start so I wanna cure that! Thanks for calling my concept unique 🙏🏼

Well there are many ways to Backflip so let’s aim for more empowering beliefs rather than limiting ourselves. You CAN do a backflip, but you choose to avoid understanding the skill and taking steps toward learning something that can be dangerous and scary. I’ve done thousands of backflips by now so I’m very comfortable doing these movements in public to teach others how to control/master their body 💯 P.s. Did you know YOUR body is amazing? Every Body is amazing~
