Worked for me on my 08 forester! First try. The other method where you do the same thing but open the door hit the lock button on the fob then open the door again and hit the unlock did not work for me. My car didn’t chirp like the other video it has this alarm sounding beep which you talked about. Thanks!

Hey, this totally worked for me! I tried 4 other videos and this was the first one to work - so thank you! Worth mentioning that my car is an 06’ impreza and didn’t honk or beep at any point during this process. Also, good tip with removing the key from ignition when trying the fob for the first time. Thanks again! Saved me from having to pay the dealership $90 to program it. ✌️

I was successful pulling this off with the exact remote key fob but it was pretty brutal! It did not take me almost 2 hours like you but it took me over an hour and I had to keep referring back to the instructions that came with the remote, your video and a few other videos. It just wasn’t working as expected and I had to make a few modifications. First thing to consider is the speed that you’re turning the K on and off 10 times. It took me probably a half an hour just to get through step one in here that initial beeping from my computer. Even though it said to turn the key on and off 10 times in under 15 seconds the only way it worked for me was to turn the key on and off super fast. The next step was the same process you and the direction said about locking the door the amount of times the code said and then unlocking to set each number. Still I must’ve done it 40 or 50 times before I realized I had to wait for a long beat for 30 seconds followed by 3 beeps AFTER I entered the 8 numbers the 2nd time. After I heard that 30 second beep and the final 3 beeps I was relieved to think it’s finally going to work BUT it’s didn’t INITIALLY 😂😢😮 I even got out of the car and tried it a few more times but nothing. Then when I got back in my car to start the process I realized I needed to jumpstart the car from draining the battery. Not until after I jumpstart the car and by mistake hit the unlock button did it work! Yay! Still, anybody reading this comment and following the directions above you may have to modify one part of the process and that is how fast you turn the key on and off 10 times. The directions say to just do it under 15 seconds, and this nice woman that made the video didn’t seem to do it fast at all, but I need it to turn the key at a pretty high rate back-and-forth 10 times and then open the door before I got that initial beep to start programming. I’m just happy it worked because they charge a lot 😂

I can't believe this actually worked for me. You should have seen us about 5 years ago with the same car.....lol!!! Well it worked but neither fob i got works. The beeps and everything are good but no dice. We'll see if this ebay company responds lol

This is definitely not the first time I've had to reprogram a key fob. But all of the instructions that I read besides the actual owner's manual leaves out opening the door after cycling the key 10 times. That was the special step that was missing. So thank you because it's really cold outside right now and I had been stuck a couple places before because my alarm would go off in my car wouldn't start

I also have a 2008 Forester. Reading the Subaru Owner's Manual was helpful, but a bit intimidating. This video was immensely helpful in simplifying the process. To all readers: Skip the Manual and just do exactly what she tells you - easy-peasy! Thank you!

Tried everything you said and the sequence accepted the code, but I have one question about your Subaru. Was it manufactured in Mexico or Japan. My replacement key fob doesn't work on Japanese MFG Subarus apparently. Thx

I had zero luck receiving the correct fob online so I just Learned how to disable the alarm system. Now I just use the key and I don’t have to worry about the alarm going off 🤷‍♀️
