On my main channel I got about 3 million views in shorts for the month and I earned about $150 for the month. I think shorts should be looked at for growth for subscribers but even so those people WILL NOT watch your long form videos. It’s almost like splitting your audience in half…. I decided to stop making shorts and my long form content started to take off. I’m just going all in on long form content. Leave the shorts for clout chasers and tiktokers

I"ve been around KZfaq and web advertising since '06 and never heard of RPM hahaha. But I've heard that acronym twice today. Thought that was interesting. Appreciate the info and a silly time.

Not sure if I missed this, but is there a special feature called templates or are these just projects that are saved with all of the settings and stuff in place and you essentially do a "save as" on it? It would be nice if they had a separate templates area that may be applied by defaults or prevent accidental overwriting after you create a new project using it. Thanks.
@NicAdWise2 ай бұрын
You did NOT miss it...that is exactly it. No, DR does not have "templates" per se, but this is how I do it to make sure I don't accidentally save over it. Yes, just start putting all "the settings and stuff in place and you essentially do a 'save as' on it." I do save the project as "Read Only - (name of the episode) - Read Only". Hopefully <fingers crossed> that's enough to remind me to open it as a read-only file. But that's still no guarantee I won't open it like a project and accidentally add stuff to it. <sigh> #beentheredonethat You are on the right track.

Or, you could be a helpful human being and say, "Hey, Nic...I think the link in the description might be the wrong one. I'd really like the pdf, could you check the link and let me know? Thanks!" To which, I would reply, "OhMyGosh...thanks @Klausjp.ontheroadagain!! You were right! I fixed the link in the description, thank YOU so much!! I am so sorry about that. You can grab a copy here: pages.adwisecreative.com/eyaoi4yt" You can either be a help to those you encounter or balance your personal happiness on what everyone else does...including their typos. Literally just starting to mix audio and music. 1) In addition to paying per piece of music ($2, $10, etc) what sites could you recommend where you pay a flat yearly fee for "X" pieces of music? 2) How do you get to the music mixer screen? You didn't clearly show this.

Instead of unlinking the audio and video, I prefer to hold Alt and drag the video layer to the right/left. This will trim only the video and not the audio. I love your production value and style. I'm sure you'll blow up in no time and I'm glad to be among the first 300 subscribers.

Ah! It sounds like you're talking about a J or L cut...? Very effective cut when applied properly at the right time. That's a little advanced for what I'm covering here. For business owners who want to start a company channel, I want to show them, it is easier to get started than you think. You gave me an idea...maybe create an "advanced techniques" Playlist for businesses taking it up a notch. Hmmmm....Thanks!!

Great insights on monetizing a vlog. Remember that your email list is gold for entrepreneurs diving into video blogging. Use your videos as a lead magnet by offering exclusive content or resources in exchange for email signups. This way, you're building an asset that allows direct communication with your audience beyond KZfaq's platform.

You explain thorougly how to set up a useful template but forget to explain how to save and use it. (What is it anyway? A project or not?) The only specific issue you mention is to save the template as "read only", however not explaining where and how. - It's a pity. 😏
@melanienolley3 ай бұрын
Exactly! This is half a video.
@NicAdWise3 ай бұрын
Unfortunatley, that's really all there is to it. You are putting "Read Only" in the file name to remind you to open as read only when you use it. DR doesn't have a "templates folder" or anything like that. I save the template for a specific podcast, in that podcast folder in the Project Manager. So, the "Solution Building" podcast would be: Folder: Solution Building > Template: "Read Only - Solution Building - Read Only" I "kinda" said that, but when I listened back to the episode, I did flub what I wanted to say. It wasn't 100% clear. Hopefully, this helps. -Nic

Fantastic DR / template information. I really appreciate you taking the time to show YOUR process. So many speed through examples that require 3X to decipher by watching 10 more times. It's funny how things appear challenging until you understand the process and then wonder why it was so challenging. Everyone learns differently. . . Great job! PS: Maybe more 10-15 clips showing how to save as read only and then open as new project. Maybe place that in a favorites folder? I haven't figured DR out completely. Although videos like this have helped immensely ❤
