Very depressing. I also remember this building being a Foodtown back in the extreme early 90s (at least when I was born).

The building has been vacant for a very long time. Originally it was part of Datascopes buildings that included the building across the street that is now Oradell Animal Hospital. In order to build and open the store they had to buy property around it to enlarge the parking lot. I did shop in it it was a large building with many upscale items that were not carried in the regular Home Depot.

This place needs to get a revisit, it’s changed since this video. My ex lived in the area and we discovered this together since she used to go here as a kid for Burger King or to shop. All the windows and doors are now blocked off with wood. The parking lot is blocked off a little more, and somehow the wine and liquor store is still open. We ended up going inside, it was very cool. Giant place too. All the signs have also been ripped down. They were going to do so much work on it, but now it’s desolate. All signs of work is gone as of 2024

@@EthanF175 yes, the entrance is through the toys r us. I’m assuming people have gone in there previously since a small slot of wood was ripped out. Enough to barely fit through the doorway. Kinda a stupid decision to go in, but it was a cool experience. Something I’d never done before

I’m so sad they closed I came here all the time, but the thing that makes me a little mad is that this was always a very busy store there was always lots of people shopping here but the one in Ramsey never has that many people and forget the one in Closter that one just sells dog and cat food and the one down in teterboro is mid,I think this store closed in June 2024. Also my dad told me he thinks this was always a petco.

Unfortunately it won’t be taken by a different restaurant. The owners of the mall want to turn the Red Robin/Kirklands/REI area into apartments. I think they’re just waiting for REI to relocate elsewhere.

I heard it was because either the owner passed or was getting too old to keep running it and their kids didn't want to run it. It was doing very well before it closed so it makes more sense that whatever happened to the owner, the family just didn't have it in them to run a restaurant. I'm sure it will be reopened under another name, since at one time it was a Perkins that also closed and reopened. That said, I'm sure Budd Lake Diner, which is just up the road about a mile, has no problem seeing this place closed.
