Christ hojo on Roland rat , he really did try to flog this song. It had amazing production but wacky lyrics plus sadly it was his last chart hit at only no 35. Two years before he was doing so well too but his 3rd album was weak and flopped.the b side to this called roll right up was alot better

theaudience are a shining example of why you should always watch the support acts at gigs. First saw Sophie and the boys at The Wulfren, a small venue next to the Wolverhampton Civic Hall, when they were promoting their first and sadly only release theaudience, where they were support for Monaco iirc, (Peter Hooks then band). How incredible they sounded and how majestic Sophie looked in her tiny little black dress and 6" red heels. Been a fan ever since. A real pity they didn't achieve greater sucess as the band.

Love this tune. It is so hard to find obscure madchester/baggy songs from small bands like this.

Agreed. Love discovering hidden gems from lesser known bands. I will be posting some more from other bands over the next few months which aren't already on youtube. 🙂

I was out for an early breakfast after a long night with a woman & her daughter. The woman asked me, she said in all the large Irish families, the mother had one 'Poor boy', that was the one child who brought out the mother's maternal instincts. I guess that would have been me, interesting Irish expression, that.

Mr R.. If you ever read this you might find this amusing... In the mid nineties I was on a 'American exchange' that ended in a drive across the US. I forced everyone to listen to Olympian on repeat over all those highways in summer heat. So long ago. Pop fame is all about chance. You had the talent, chance didn't accompany you long enough....
