After Mick Doohan Wayne Gardner Barry Sheene is still my hero an absolute legend years after his championships I wish he was still with us so much.

LOL yup, he was waving, lol. Ahhhhhhhhhhh good times and not jewelry wearing poser F1 drivers. Pooise Mamalton. Proper Englishman. I saw Sheens last race at Goodwood, he won, of course. What a giant amongst men he was.

hehe, modern bikes are incredible. 79 just wasn't that far back really and Murray Walker is talking about what heroes these guys are because they have 125hp LOL. Now I do get back in the day the tires were nothing like as good as they are now but you can buy street bikes with 150hp all day long without getting into the big bad daddies of the street. Mannnnnnnn how times have moved on. These boys could ride and without all the noob saving devices of modern bikes too. Proper legends.

This was when Silverstone was a proper fast racing circuit , before it got modified and ruined with new bends and chicanes 😢

Wayne Gardner was on a challenging bike to ride. He left a black line and set the fastest lap at the end of the race. ☝

We used to go every year , camping for the weekend one of the things I remember from that year was the cheering coming from various parts of the circuit whenever Barry Sheene took the lead , we were sat in grandstands at start finish and to this day I can't believe Barry didn't win , great skills and a lot of bottle from all 3 involved .
