Because you are the only one that can document them? I’m confused why not? I have nickel and blue serial number 13 from my grandfather with the same sales sheet and box with a letter from colt like a birth certificate letter. Very interesting stuff here.

I just stumbled on this today, was pleased to see another Pinto Python. Mine has a 4 digit serial number. I had heard that it might have been a salesman's sample. Wish I had the documentation like you have. Great collection !
@vipercollector8011
@vipercollector8011 Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of pintos out there, however, most of them, almost all of them were just guns sent back to Colt to have something done and while there, had nickel added. Did you call Colt and letter it ? It may show up as going back to Colt at some point. Salesman samples exist, but without documentation, there’s no way to add value. Good luck. If it’s a documented early salesman sample… it’s money.

@@vipercollector8011 Thank you for your reply, I'm still working on getting it lettered, had this Colt for about 20 yrs and thought the two tone was done by the original owner until I found out how old the gun was and several stories I read about Pintos

You should know better that you never put a max load through a flimsy junk S&W revolver. Yes the finishes are wonderful and the trigger and cylinder action are smooth. But at the end of the day S&W revolvers are not designed to withstand hot or max loads. When you buy Buffalo Bore or DT Hunter ammo they specify only to use in Ruger and Freedom Arms/ Charter Arms revolvers only. That's why I only own Ruger revolvers so I can shoot the hottest and nastiest ammo and reloads without worrying about blowing my gun apart like Smith and Colt owners do.

I had a gold 66 galaxie in 1976 that my uncle gave to me for my 16th birthday. It had 37000 miles, 390 V8 with C6 transmission. That car would do neutral low drops with ease. Unfortunately I only had the car for a few months before the frame broke in half caused by 10 years of Ohio snow and salt. The body only had minor spots of surface rust. I had no idea what I had when I was given that car otherwise I would have repaired it. In those days we simply junked them and bought something else. I sure miss my 66 galaxie, 66 chevelle, 70 Duster, and 71 Charger the most.

No disrespect, but you are the one that is incorrect in this case. Feel free to do some homework. Google is your friend when you’re not sure what you may be commenting on. This in fact, IS a factory produced Nomad made by Chevrolet. I’d bet the Viper on it. Well, at least one of them. Have a great day.
