Momoko has more than earned the spot.

Lets not forget that during this ceremony they officially killed off the existing BABYMETAL of Su and Moa and gave a tribute to Yui. That puts to bed any possibility of Yui ever returning. The Fox God then summoned a new BABYMETAL in the form of Su, Moa, and Momoko. They also revealed a new logo which removed the skull and hearts and reduces the wings on each side down to three.

I'm very happy that it is Momoko, she deserves it, in my opinium. And I'm looking foreward to see them live in April on the Sabaton-Tour.

Personally I think the singles felt a bit weaker than expected at first. But I always remember I like Babymetal songs better live. But one of the things I also noticed: the singles are better on the album, in the order of the album, it's somehow surprisingly more of a coherent whole. As was promised with it being a concept album.

About official announcement, The three miraculous members had something to excite those who saw them. But unfortunately, Momoko Okazaki doesn't have that imo. Choosing her may be the safe path , but it doesn't make it exciting. Producer Kobametal made a poor choice. I was totally disappointed with today's announcement. 　 My BABYMETAL fever ended today.

Hoping against hope really that Yui would come back but it was never going to happen, Momoko Chan deserves this she’s worked for it and obviously enjoys her work, her face shines when she’s on stage with them and obviously she gets on with Sue and Moa. ❤

Thanks for the honest review! I definately have my favourites too, but overall I really love listening to the complete album from start to finish. I don't want to say it's my favourite BM album but it's my favourite experience as a whole! I agree Metal Kingdom should be placed somewhere else though. Maybe switching The Legend and Metal Kingdom works better? I'm gonna try that now 🤘🦊🤘

I want to support you, and i am totally agree with your opinion. At least someone is not saying, that everything is fine, great song, etc. I don't like, what they are doing with Babymetal. I do like Metal Kingdom and Divine attack, maybe even Monochrome, but not Light And Darkness. I did not liked almost full Metal Galaxy album. Yes, they need, to "grow up" and do more serious music. But serious music is not a pop music, it's opposite. They will announce the new member of Babymetal on April 1st. I think Momoko will become a new member, i like her, she deserves the spot. But, for me, Babymetal will always be Yui, Moa and Su. Without Yui, no matter how hard Moa tried (Moa worked as two members, she deserves all respect) it was not the same. Babymetal team then introduced Avengers, and Moa was singing only her lines, and probably Yui's voice was playing as backsound. I didn't like it either, its like they became idol group again.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I respect your honesty. I kind of agree with you about Metal Galaxy not being as strong as Babymetal or Metal Resistance. However, I kind of prefer Metal Resistance out of those three. Just personal choice. When Babymetal announced that they were releasing a 10-song concept album I was immediately concerned. My concern stems from my belief that I could count the bands across all time that have successfully delivered a 'true' concept album, on the fingers of both hands. The music landscape is littered with the carcasses of albums that were released as concept albums but fell flat; mostly because there weren't sufficient songwriting skills within the bands or their teams. This is where Babymetal soothed my concerns a little as I believe their team of songwriters has the skills to write 10 cohesive songs that are internally strong enough to be stand-alone tracks or be deliberately written to compliment or lead into another song. So, it was with great interest and excitement that I watched Divine Attack last month and I was equally excited to hear November's release of Monochrome. I think both are excellent, excellent songs. Do I have a favorite? Right now, probably Monochrome. However, I am resisting rating the releases because we don't know where these songs will sit in the track listing on the album. I think Divine attack will go in at track 2 or 3 and I think Monochrome will be somewhere between track 5 and 8. Why do I think that? Because there needs to be at least one song to explain what event or situation has led to the gathering of the powerful in Divine Attack. Then there will have to be some form of struggle that leads to the destruction and desolation depicted in Monochrome that leaves nothing but longing and memories. Then the tide has to turn, and I think that is where we are asked to, not look at the colorless world, but to imagine the sky in the colors of the rainbow. My thoughts here are encouraged by the monochrome video turning to rainbow colors at the end of the video. Representing the return of light and hope. Monochrome can't be the final track because this is a concept album and, like a song, it will have to resolve. Monochrome offers no resolution. Anyway, this was just a long way of saying that I like both songs, but if it goes like the story that is forming in my head, then I will be a blubbering wreck after this song on the album. I can't wait for the rest. I have pre-ordered the album and will be off 'sick' from work the day it arrives so I can listen to it many times. Thanks for taking the time to give your thoughts, I enjoyed hearing them.

I've been 'here' at least since the Tokyo Dome setlist reaction video. 🙂 My guess is Babymetal releasing this many songs before the album release is kind of normal. How many songs of the first album were already released before the album ? Not just as singles, but performed live ? Or the second album ? The first album might be a bit unfair, but the second album, from the top of my head: RoR, Awadama, NRNR, Karate, Yava. The third album, not just from the top of my head, but looking it up: Distortion, Elevator Girl, Pa Pa Ya, Tattoo/Kagerou, Shanti Shanti Shanti, BxMxC, Arkadia, Starlight, Future Metal.

This is one of the best babymetal songs for me.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this new single. They're an unconventional band if that's what you trying to say, but yea we also say they're a group or "metal dance unit". And don't worry, no one will ask you to give 10 to all of their songs, in fact I don't think numbers are necessary at all, you either enjoy it or not, maybe not regularly like others but it's your jam. After almost a month of released their new single "Divine Attack - Shingeki" marking the long time waited return, they just released another great new single "Monochrome" and is a song that expresses a fleeting hope during Ragnarok, which means "doomsday" in Norse mythology, that the starry skies will be wrapped in rainbow colors, all of this under the question which color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky, from a children's eyes. They're making us sure that this song belongs to another world out of 10 in total of their metalverse. This time the theme runs around the Norse mythology and the Ragnarök event, we can also see an artwork which apparently show "Yggdrasil", the Norse tree of life, there's a lot more interesting things related to this tree but in general is representing the life and rebirth of the humankind after a moment of death and chaos, BM fans know that this a recurrent theme on BM lore and is always exciting. I also noticed since a very long time ago they were using the _"Myth"_ title before every different title itself, so that could mean another hint over the concept of this album using different mythologies and their stories represented in each one of their songs, i heard another snippets sets and I can totally see that. In this case they're going with the Norse mythology which is very popular nowadays thanks to videogames like God Of War Ragnarok recently released, or even Attack On Titan (Shingeki No Kyojin) anime series, without giving so much details, which is also a theme many BM fans are relating to the world of "Divine Attack - Shingeki", their first single released. After hearing the lyrics a little bit It could also be related to an historical moment we all know happened in Hiroshima which is also SuMetal birthplace. The sound on this song reminds a little bit of good old hard rock ballad mixed with a touch of heavy metal and some complex drums always in contrast with beautiful SuMetal's vocals, i can also see the hands of Yuyoyuppe on this, he's the songwriter/composer/arranger behind songs like Megitsune, Rondo Of Nightmare, Karate and Kagerou. After watching the credits now there's no doubt is him behind this song and he knows his business and totally love his sounds. I like how at the end the lyrics said "Just Smile" and then the colors are back.🙂🌈 They're not kids or teenagers anymore, so don't expect for those peak days to come back, they had two huge loses with YuiMetal and Mikio Fujioka, of course YuiMetal is the one that hurts the most but they're heal now and they got a new route, so try to focus on their new path coz they're not gonna go back, except maybe remembering some of their hits at live performance. I'm not sure what you're talking about in regards to streaming and time zone differences, it was a simultaneous worldwide release. It released on KZfaq, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer at the same time.
