I agree Gary. We have had a lot of rain over the past week and more on the way for the rest of the week. We need it but not all at one time like we get in this area of Texas. The temperatures this week are in the low 80s to around 90 much of this week which is lower than our average of 94+ this time of year…..John

Hi Drew, Thanks for your comments. I am trying to finish off the scenery in the middle of both sides of the peninsula since it is the smallest and easiest for me to reach. Ralphie is lounging next to ready tracks east under Union Station….John

Hi Eric, I appreciate your comment very much. Before I can do any messy stuff, I have to clear the trains from the staging yard just below that area. I will probably just move them from yard A around the back into yard B on the other side since it is still empty because of the previous scenery work….John

Hi Dwight, Yes I have been trying to work on it when I feel up to it. I have found that doing a series of shorts for each task that I have been doing for this project is a whole heck of a lot easier than doing longer videos with lots of editing since not many really watch them . I have discovered that shorts are much easier to do and if you don’t like it then it is very easy to redo before upload…..John

Thanks for watching and your question. The last couple of weeks I had worked on the level just below the depot area. When that was completed, I added ballast on all of the depot tracks on the next level above. Today I started doing the scenery for the depot area. The overall scenery project was started about 3 weeks ago to finish the middle portion, both lower and upper sections, of the center peninsula. This video shows the next task around the depot tracks….John

Hi, Thank you for your comments. I did the introduction project video a couple of weeks ago and described what needed to be done. This is only the first side of the center peninsula that is nearing completion. I plan on doing the other side as well. As for full tours of the layout, I have actually done a couple in the past that are posted on my channel. I also did one last October 2023 live walking around the layout on the Back On Track Saturday show. However, when both sides of the center peninsula are done, excluding the fascia, I will do an overview of the work done for this scenery project….John

Hi Brian, Totally understandable. I usually print N scale but a friend who models the Great Northern in the 1950s asked if I could modify the 50 ft HO that I had done for him previously. He gave me a list of changes and this is the revised version that is being printed…..John

That is awesome! Think he would mind sharing the stl?
@tanzj18 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comments. I usually share my designs on Tinkercad. This one is not posted there yet. However, there should be an earlier version of the 50 ft flatcar there now. Later today I will post the 52 ft version for sharing. The original design is not mine as I use the OpenScad Customizable Car Creator that I found on Thingiverse. I then take the stl up to Tinkercad for modifications like I did with the 52 ft one…..John
