Very nice, even though some collectors don't like RCA's Dynagroove process. The usual complaints of the sound was that it was "too brassy" and "too loud." A number of Jefferson Airplane pundits prefer "Surrealistic Pillow" in mono, if they can find it, stating that the album sounded like it was recorded in a huge airplane hangar, with it's swampy echo mixing.

Awesome! Thanks for the pleasure. The sound of a record - caresses the ear! The guitars sound great, the vocals - too! No hiss - crystal clear sound! How did you achieve all this?? How did you convert so successfully to digital?

Hi. The turntable I’m playing it on has a direct USB output, which I’m able to record through using audacity and convert to a WAV file. In regards to the sound, it hasn’t been touched at all, so it just goes to show the quality of records back in the early 60’s!

I was consciously looking for unremastered Beatles albums (because I don't like most remasters) - and luckily I came across your posts. Remastering isn't for everyone - even a professional. To remaster the Beatles requires a sound director with a gift from God and accurate ears. The Beatles were very lucky in terms of sound engineers and managers, and God gave them great talent. I will be happy if there is an opportunity to listen to other vinyl albums - it's a pleasure to listen to this sound :)

Great to hear this in pure mono instead of reprocessed stereo again. This is the other song to feature Andy White on drums and Ringo on maraccass. Once Ringo proved himself to be a capable drummer, George Martin no longer needed Andy White's services.
