When you said reason #1, I gagged. If you're ever buying a watch for other people to see it, you're not doing it right. Gross.

I am going with a 2-watch rotation right now (although I have more than that). Rolex Submariner Date and a G-Shock with negative display. That is all I need.

Wow, Harrison. You know you’ve made it when Elshan sends you a watch to review 👍😁. Incidentally, while beautiful, I much prefer the Nova v1. Excellent review, per usual.

While an attractive watch, it does not look very legible. The first rule of watches for me is that is has to be legible.
@bowedonut2223 сағат бұрын
It’s a dress watch. Its primary purpose is to be beautiful. You aren’t wearing this scuba diving or airplane flying or car racing. Who cares if it takes an extra second to read the time?
@chriscon84634 сағат бұрын
I wonder if I’d be able to tell the time with it in low-light situations (or basically any event I’d be wearing a watch like this to).

The point that it all kind of blends together to look blue puts me off of the watch. Anyone can make a pretty looking dial but I think there is some expertise in making a dial legible AND beautiful. I hope we see the Cartier Tank American soon. Great video as always.

How about replacing the dial with an Omega dial 😅 ? I like the owner doing his own thing.

Tudor is not me, as for Rolex Sub, yes but it’s a 1967 5513. I cant do anything with a modern one.

My Reverso is Christmas-only : 24 and 25 Dec each year. No regrets on my collection, but I'm very, very non-hype. No modern Rolex rage. No interest in very high end ones, like AP or Patek. More like sports vintage preowned classics in steel.

Hey Harrison, a quick question for you, if you don’t mind 🙏🏼 Compared to the ‘116610LN’, does your ‘124060’ have a wider bracelet…? When I tried on the ‘116610LN’, I noticed (for me anyway) that it didn’t taper down nicely …becoming rather narrow, rather fast. Going off your short here, the bracelet looks much better!!
@HarrisonElmore2 күн бұрын
I haven't worn the last reference for a long period of time, so I might not have a well informed answer, but I do know that imperially the bracelet and the clasp are wider than the prior version. It feels and looks proportional to me.

Putting this out there without judgement to anyone here. There are marked distinctions in what characterizes an admirer, enthusiast, acquirer, consumer, purchaser and collector of something. None of these are better or worse than the other. And one can be several or all of these things serially or simultaneously. They do however represent very different characteristics, thought patterns and behaviors. Curiously though, they tend to be conflated with respect to wristwatches. Does owning 1, 2 or 3 of something for a utilitarian purpose define a collector? The fallacy of a one-watch collection sits at the extreme of this notion.

You will end up selling and losing money and eventually buy a proper Sub. Can't beat the Sub.. The Tudor may try but its still a Tudor not a rolex at the end of the day

Just had a scammer on a Moonswatch. I made an offer, amd the seller accepted. For 2 days, the status showed that the watch had been sent FedEx ground, but ni tracking #. Then it changed to the shipper being DHL, and a tracking # was provided. Plugging the # into DHL's tracking told me that the tracking # was fake. I had eBay call me, explained what happened, they could see that everything I explained was true, and will refund me. I've had my account for 23 years, and they always back me up because I'm truthful whenever there's a problem. I have zero patience for scumbag sellers, and dont hesitate to contact eBay at the first indication that something smells like a scam.

Great collection! My thoughts are if you are going to get a watch over $1,000 you might as well save up and get a Rolex, since 95% of the general population this is the only respected high end watch. The rest of your collection can be filled with great Citizen, Seiko, Tissot, G-Shock and of course the Apple Watch. Some non watch lovers may recognize the Omega as being at the luxury level, but everyone who sees you wearing a non Rolex watch will believe it is a sub $500 watch. So if your thoughts are I don't care what people think, then speaking very honestly most watches will perform and look just as good as Rolex.

Don’t buy a watch if you cannot afford to service it. Just like a car. As usual people being pretentious.

this video confirms that super clones look like a real Rolex unless one has a jewelers loop. Now you see a Rolex on a wrist & instead of admiring the workmanship, you ask .. is it really real. All the marketing in the world won't fix that.

Super cool with the bracelet on the Explorer 2. is that a Bracelet of the 126710, or is it a super jubilee from 116234 Datejust with the clasp of an 126710? Thanks for reply to Norwegian nerd, want that combo for my 16710. Looks awesome! All the best Patrick

Off topic question but what year is that 16710? I can see its a swiss made dial, no holes case.. but I cant help but notice the rehaut? I though these never had a rehaut? Love the coke!

Out of my current collection I would pick my Reverso Ref. Q2438522 as a dress watch, my Sub 124060 as a sports watch and my Santos WSSA0037 as my daily. Maybe I would flip the Santos for my OP 114300 rhodium dial from time to time.

I loved the "I am a normal person, I don't have a Patek" 😂 I am a normal person too Harrison, that's the reason because I follow you and some other normal people, because I am a watch lover but note a dreamer. btw I started by a Quartz Citizen 200Eur, then a Seiko 5 450Eur and so on.... ☺. It is a hobby for me, not a problem 😂. I want to keep it that way.
