I’m just not enjoying the game like I did before season 5 combat code change. Something is just off, and FS, SnS, Spear feel brutally oppressive. I used to 1vX like crazy and now it feels like I get rubberbanded back, or certain weapons/abilities just hit me while visually nowhere near me. And healers seem just so tanky lately (abusing Gearscore bug with featherweight?) Add on to that, the lackluster “announcement” is super frustrating and my mojo is dwindling

Me and my friends keep giving this game a try and then we find ourselves playing GW2 by the end of the day for good mmo experience

Love this game so much but they need to pull another brimstone level content drop or they’re losing what’s left of the player base.

Ignoring the horrible state the game has been in since inception by "not saying negative things" anymore doesnt change the fact that its in a horrible state and has been since launch

I'm on copium pretty severely but even this blew me away. The fact is they repeatedly lied about waiting until June for the big news and that their would be a road map. That is leading on because I refuse to believe they didn't know that releasing the game on console as the big news would mean little to PC players. And if they had somehow convinced themselves of that then this is proof they are incompetent. They lied repeatedly too so the intent was obviously there. I don't care about the devs or the managers or whatever. I completely agree and have been in business meetings myself where you might really be pushing for one thing but if the directors want it another way you just have to do it. But I think saying lets focus our anger towards the devs or AGS or the business managers is irrelevant. We direct our anger at the people making New World as the game. It doesn't matter who it is because that is up to them to sort out the public meltdown internally. I hope they can turn it around in October but they've messed up so many times now my copium has run dry. And I had quite the resovoir.

The slow ass development team that doesn’t listen to players..saw this in LotRO with Turbine. We’ll take y’all back in ESO, its only gotten better with time.

kristofer i absolutely agree with you but listen i am playing this game from when i am 13 i am 16 in 3 days and i feel every time nw dont know what they are doing for every good thing 3 bad ones pop out and pvp is so good and so bad like man wtf buff open world make it give better loot maybe the pvp zone will buff open world pvp but even then then need to update faster like they are fucking amazon they can afford to do that well on october i give nw a last chance coming from a player with 1500 hours much love everybody<3

Don't care if you don't want to focus on the negative. People are annoyed, what good is burying your head in the sand? Move on to a game that is worth your effort as a content creator.

It is a big LOL that you defend the developers while thy trolled the players x3 times already recently... Game is broken, look at the rapier and hatched gameplay. I am asking you now, where are the muskets especially in the open world pvp? you ppl complain so much about musket which is mainly ruined by aimbot users that AGS does not ban or add a good anti-cheat engine; and of course these melee players that think that OPR is the only pvp area to ruin a weapon. You tried to use musket but using mainly rapier mainly but then go back your original build showcase again. Musket is not a ranged weapon anymore but a closed ranged weapon now; it is even not effective on medium range on mobile targets... The new PVP Zone, I see ppl complain about musket to gang everyone but it is not realistic at all where there is no zoom, and bullet fall down really hard that it is hard to estimate the projectile with %100 to make your every shot hit for medium and long range and you need to do headshot to give most damage in musket which is so rare for ranged gameplay... Thy should be more worried and cry about the premade groups with healers and of course the dominating mega p2w zerg territory owning companies' members.

It's simple, they know they cant make a proper release and fix the game. Got bugs from S1. Stop the copium aahahah its wild. They dont care about their player base AT ALL. They lie, they only want money and provide false hope over and over. Anyone who actually still plays this everyday is just giving them a reason why they can get away with everything. Leave a bad steam review and move onto another game. If someone cant tell that they are in it JUST for the money and game ISNT IN maintenance mode already, u need serious help or are just so beyond bored its wild.

This was the most balanced take I’ve seen so far. Thank you for not being negative. You were literally the only one. I got back into it this week and bought the expansion today. The console update was enough for me to finally purchase it. Everyone telling console players not to buy it or that they’re stepping away after thousands of hours is just odd to me. For people that played the game for that amount of time you would think they would want the game to succeed but instead they’re scaring potential new players away. It’s sad. The game is phenomenal.

When you say "its one or two people that make these decisions..." Scot Lane is one of those people making the decisions. He's literally the game director. The rest of the Devs answer to him.

I have the feeling that the development of LOTRO forced NW to become a field for testing and developing technologies, trampling on the content that players would really like to see. I believe this order may have come from someone above Scott. But these are just guesses based on the new storytelling, server, and combat code technologies being released. I think now that the dust has settled, we have to accept that this is what we have and have fun until it loses its fun :) Big hug Kristofer!

I also try to stay positive about the game in general, but this announcement has been pretty rough. I actually do agree that there’s plenty of content coming, but essentially skipping season 6 for PC players is pretty disrespectful. There are really 2 things they need to do to show the PC player base (particularly PvP players) that they are working in good faith: 1) Roll back slayer script. It has been AWFUL for PvP, and that’s pretty universally agreed upon by PvPers. So much rubberbanding and weapon swap/stam are bugging out all the time. 2) A new OPR map. I don’t even necessarily think this would be as good as the new PvP zone, but it will be evidence that they are listening. As usual, good stuff in the video! Keep the content coming!

I tried new world when it came out, but didnt stick with it (my 3090 died lol), this is the kind of update that will get me to give a second chance. I feel if the update does well with new players, it will help the game long term more than another expansion with current population. Seems a bit like one tamriel where it fixes some core problems the game has for new players

the funny part is AGS and the Dev's know exactly what they're doing. Scot said it himself, he said it was the exact message they wanted to portray.

I feel sorry for the content creators that were making a living making new world content. I’ve heard some say they’re living off savings and others trying to move to other games just not working out well.

We were promised a lot of stuff for buying the expansion that we just did not get.

Kristofer I always check in on you occasionally - I don't play New World, but I loved your ESO content (and still like your vibe). I did have some fun with New World when it launched, and it makes me sad that the numbers have dwindled as they have. It's tough to defend publishers in any way with the tons and tons of layoffs across the business, but it does make sense for a business to look at the size of the player base and choose not to pour in more resources. Doesn't make it suck any worse, I know I hope you enjoy every scrap of time you get in the game, I can tell how much you love the combat. Please don't come back to ESO, I still have nightmares from trying to catch your Ghost build 🤣

This whole thing was a huge fuck you to the loyal PC players. They admitted as much when they said there is no season 6 or anything until Oct 15th. That would be almost an entire year with zero content lmao. They did give us half of the shit that was promised with the ROTAE Expansion. So basically they stole our money and then laughed at us as they did.

I appreciate this perspective. Assuming the best in individuals is a much better way to live your life than thinking everyone is out to get you. There was definitely poor communication, but I highly doubt Scot Lane or Dave or some of the other devs are doing thing to purposely piss off PC players. They either made mistakes or simply just don’t have the resources to supply everything players are demanding. If NW players just chilled out and showed a little more support for the game/devs, it would t have nearly as negative of a stigma in the gaming community. As much as PC players want to blame the devs, they are just as much to blame for lack of new players and disinterest in the game amongst the MMO community.

You cant just assume theres some phantom decision maker in the background thats not how it works Scot Lane is the game director it ultimately falls on him when things go wrong. Its lame to make excuses for him and not hold the people in charge on paper accountable.

The issue is not just communication though, it's the absurd lack of content. We're getting one Raid and one new PvP zone for waiting an entire year. No matter how they handled the communication, they're just consistently underdelivering on content and people are just at a point where they're sick of investing time into an MMO that gets little to no updates (and the few updates we're getting being low quality and riddled with bugs). The communication being hilariously bad is just the cherry on top. You can only be on the Hopium for so long before you have to accept the unfortunate reality that this game is never going to turn it around in major way. Really hope Kristofer can move on at some point and find a new home in a game that actually has a future, because the content has always been enjoyable to watch.

Any tips for rapier? I cant seem to hit any of my attacks even light and heavys, tracking is just awful

PvP zone will be in CK and it will be new addition to bottom left CK POI. What we however want is new OPR map, we're puking playing same map for 3 years. This new PvP FFA zone is DOA because of muskets and 500CON tanks. Can't wait to face 5 man stack of muskets that is grouped on discord and ignores FFA part just to kill you. Melee can't do that due to melee cleave.

game is good I have 4800 hours on the devaloka server and 4000 on artorius, the game would be perfect if they left the base game + expansion for 120 reais (very affordable) come back with a threshold chip (I liked leveling armor) I encourage you to do dg in search of them , remove the chromatic seal and inductor, man, I really liked roulette, that emotion of coming encore and selling it for 150k +, or going m10 to try to come internally encore, returning to this roulette and drop system (nowadays the majority come all bound killing the game's economy in relation to the sale and purchase of weapons and sets), have more maps to change the dynamics of gameplay, for example, have standard options and options with other objectives, have instanced and casual warfare without territorial value, increase the pvp track and give you a unique skin for those who have a 300 pvp track (example), reduce the value of the game and focus on having beautiful skins and exploring the game with a game store, with a name rename ticket, selling houses for cash (not houses it bothers anyone and it wouldn't be pay to win) like that.

Theyll announce a new weapon shortly after console launch. If they wait till then, they'll have a bigger audience to get hype for it.
