As you are "Tabieats" , you should do a collab with "Japaneat", he does short restaurant reviews too :)

I love taco rice, ever since you two did something a while back. So, now, it's a regular on my home cooked meals. I also tried fajita rice, utilizing the same concept. I also do Japanese sesame chicken, is that similar to chicken karaage?
@TabiEatsКүн бұрын
So happy you enjoy taco rice. We have to try your fajita rice one day. Chicken Karaage is more like boneless fried chicken with a bit of sweetsoy sauce flavor.
@LikaSaliscente1969Күн бұрын
@@TabiEats umami fried chicken, I'll see what I can do here at home. For the fajitas, I make it as usual, except I replace half of the lime juice with Kikkoman soy sauce. Skirt steak 500 grams, onion, 3 (or more) different colored bell peppers, celery, 2 (or more) TBS cilantro, 1 TBS (or more) cumin, red pepper flakes (to taste), garlic (optional), equal parts soy sauce & lime juice (3/4 tsp each, or to taste), and will sometimes use sake to deglaze the pan.

I went there yesterday for the first time and they had the BEST karaage I've ever eaten. Usually other places it's too doughy or incredibly greasy. This wasn't greasy at all and not over powering in garlic or ginger.

I too noticed Korean food sold in Japan is typically milder spicy and sweeter than the dishes I ate in South Korea, especially Southern South Korea cities like Masan, Busan, and Daegu. By the way, try traditional Korean sweets like Songpyeon, Yaksik and Yakgwa. They are yummy.

Craffles are so popular in Korea at the moment. They buy the frozen uncooked croissants, defrost them and allow them to prove. You then cook them in a waffle iron and you can use butter and sugar to coat them before cooking to get a luscious crispy glaze when cooked.❤❤👵🏴🌹🌹 I should think you could do it with honey too.

Love the ummm numi noises. Having visited hawaii, i noticed at sizzler there were hawaiian, american & japanese breakfasts because they get a lot of japanese tourists. Ya miso soup. The japanese folks were eating american breakfasts. Also noticed hawaiian breakfasts at restaurants serve rice instead of american potatoes

I've been exploring, but I don't live close to many Korean restaurants, so I've been cooking it myself. My favorite so far is Bulgogi Teokbokki - I love the chew of the ricecakes with the veggies and bulgogi beef. A close 2nd is the sweet & spicy Korean chicken - I always have to dial down the gochujong, but I love the chicken so much. I really love Korean Kimbap too - I can get that at H-Mart. I'm going to get japchae from the H-Mart deli one of these days, I really want to try it.
