I’m in middle school and my class is playing this. Y’all are going a lil fast tho. Sounds good. Look up fox high school jazz. Idk if you’ll find anything but they’ve played insane songs. All I’m saying is they are most likely professional level. And that’s coming from a professional(not me). Nice job though.

Serenata and Tango Azul are some of Leroy Anderson most beautiful pieces, even though here I find the sound of " la clave" annoying.

It's probably the acoustics in the hall or the audio from the camera making it sound louder than it actually was.

It's in cut timing, so they did it at the right speed, or close to right

I have heard performances (including its reference recording on the publisher's website) that were slower than how it is performed here, but I would assume it was probably done this way to be more of a challenge for the students. Not 100% sure though. -Dan

Great Performance...Jill was even getting into the groove! It's great that the New Generation is getting into Jazz like this, when I was in School, they didn't even want to play the, "Theme From Shaft!" Band Director, Jill Carr...please make sure they KNOW that Eddie Harris was a Chicago Musician! :)
