At 20:45 The company that imploded the Kingdome almost failed, but realized just in time how well it had been constructed (badly maintained) and revised their plan and quantity of explosives.

The Kingdome gave me great memories of Seattle teams coming of age. It was ugly but saved the M's and Super Bowl Champion Hawks.

I remember watching this as a kid! I grew up on CDI documentaries, the stuff they have managed to pull off is absolutely insane. Documentaries like this don't come around often anymore but they are worth the hunt!

CDI's pretty much the chief authority when it comes to implosions. When other implosion companies say it can't be done, they'll ask when you need it done by.

Thanks for sharing this education video about construction engineering people who demo stadiums as a hubby. Lots of engineering experts and educated professionals working in construction industry. My respect for them as they work.

I guess nobody sadly since this show ended back in 1999 despite getting every episode repeated on BBC Choice from 2001 - 2003 and then again CBBC itself from Series 6 - 9 from about 2006 - 2009 and is extremely unlikely this show will ever be back on TV since Andy Cunningham is long gone now and Shows are so unappreciated these days since Teletubbies and Pingu get much higher ratings and a lot of slapstick comedy is forbidden nowadays since it would make parents outraged by what their kids learn on TV nowadays of course Sooty is still exceptionally popular but it is really toned down on slapstick nowadays so parents will not make a fuss that way.

I am sad that she is gone, my high school band and every other high school band in the area played for the opening of the Dome under the direction of Danny Kaye. It was pretty special. Sad to see but the ball park and football field are nice additions to the area. You did good!

The reason they said yes to tearing it down is because that roof was unsafe and the owners knew it was since the beginning it was created it was always going down it was a matter of when and which idiot would pay for a new stadium. My father ran one of the outfits during this project start to finish.

I had this on DVD a while back, still recognise a few of these demolished structures. 20:29 is Walsall/Birchills Power Station coming down in about 1987, and 20:41 are the cooling towers at Meaford in Staffordshire, demolished in around 1991, my Granddad lived in that area and his brother worked at that power station.

Is they more episode's of this because the people in this video demolished flats where i live in Leeds back in 2001 and on the bbc there's a article saying they did a documentary but have never come across it www.bbc.co.uk/leeds/citylife/construction_demolition.shtml

I have the 300 level sign. We snuck in that night and scavenged the rubble. We got caught by security but i paid them $40 and they lets us go with our pieces. I also have a chunk of concrete from the peak of the dome.

I remember seeing this on TV in the late 1990s but missed the first half so good to see the whole program. Especially with Fred Dibnah in it!

Charles Moran is my boss, I’m a Saturday Lad for his 5 acre estate! He has been very helpful in telling me what I should do to be successful in my chosen career; demolition obviously!!
