He’s cleaning the coils on a mini-split system, you can remove the cover off the front.

How do you change the temperature measurement from Celsius to Fahrenheit?

You have to hold both the up and down temperature control buttons simultaneously and hit reset to change from F to C. Also make sure the clock isn’t flashing when you do. I tried a few times before holding the temp buttons for a little longer and it worked. Terrible remote. Looks like something from 1986.
