with the nature of this video, I'm surprised it never mentioned anything about Powapowa-P as his songs are pretty much the embodiment of what happens when the question of "how is the vocaloid producer" flies over everyone's head, especially since that he was also struggling (look at the Strobe series for example, Strobe Last especially)

The PV of mad head love makes me physically uncomfortable. I‘m sensitive to that sort of stuff. Just remembering it makes the discomfort return. I wish I could understand this phenomenon better without having such an overwhelming physical reaction. Besides that, great video as always.

As a vocaloid fan that never played Diva nor Sekai, I can tell that the games were a very important part of the fandom nonetheless. It’s sad to see how the franchise has lost the plot (in some way) by abandoning Diva.

If Project Sekai is going to replace Project Diva, at least I hope it will get a good PC port/version that will compete with the quality of Project Diva. Changes are not inherently bad, and I think some of the additions of Project Sekai are great, mainly the interactivity with the Vocaloids (Project Mirai for the 3DS also had a lot of features that let you interact with the Vocaloids and it made the game a million times better). The art style update is a much needed one in my opinion, I don’t despise the graphics of the Project Diva games but the 3D models are clearly old and a change of shading is not enough. That said, Project Sekai has set two trends that make me worried about the future of this franchise. The first one are the non-Vocaloid characters. People like Vocaloid for the songs, but also for the Vocaloids themselves. It’s great that we can finally see them talk and show their personalities, but they’ve taken a backseat to the other characters, especially given that there are so many of them in comparison to the Vocaloids. I know there’s so much you can do with the Vocaloids given that they don’t really have a backstory or that they can’t have character arcs, but it’s clear that the main focus of the stories are the other characters and that sucks for people who want to see Miku and company. The second trend is the gacha part. Project Diva has engaged in plenty of nasty market decisions, as you pointed out, but gacha is much worse because it’s more likely to cause gambling addictions. And they know damn well gacha is more profitable than selling overpriced DLCs or rising the price of the base game, so this is probably going to be a permanent feature of future games. I also worry about the game being phone-only and relying on servers. Will the game still be available once they move on to another project and close the servers?

You completely skipped over the fact that eraser girl is about a LESBIAN couple. The word lesbian is never used in the lyrics but with the two female symbols and the name eraser "girl" its pretty clear that its about girls. Its also heavily implied its about homophobia. Though the songs ambiguity suggests that you can make your own conclusion and yours is actually pretty good too.

i hate project sekai sm. it ruins vocaloid with these goofy and ugly asf original characters that are nothing alike vocaloid, has crappy outfit designs for dancing (project diva modules were so pretty!), has this terrible 3d model i hate, has ugly and repetitive stages for the dancing animations (project diva had many beautiful maps), and ITS FANDOM SUCKS! its fandom is NOTHING alike the old vocaloid fandom from project diva era! not to mention this game is dramatic af, project diva wasnt like that. project sekai = 🗑️ #bringprojectdivaback!

Well, you were right.. about two months of this comment, an official post of SEGA stated that they won't be doing Project DIVA anymore due to the earnings being lower than the cost production, and they will stick with the gatcha versions for mobile devices

Just got Mega Mix+ on PC and it is terrible. No ability to map single buttons to shoulder+trigger buttons. And the interface did not at least copy from the better Project Diva Future Tone which is on the PS4. It is really strange to say, but it is true, that I would rather play Future Tone on the PS4 than play Mega Mix+ on the PC. It's ridiculous. And it's unfortunate. It's such a hard drop of the ball.

That is why I think intelligence is a blessing and a curse. Creativity as well, either it helps you or you destroy yourself with it. Just gotta know until which point knowledge is good and healthy I enjoy maretus music, because of how subtle his message is. Subtle but you can hear it. For me its usually clear what it could mean. Fact is, that he more you look into it the more it opens your eyes, and the darker it looks now that you know(more like are aware). Obviously some people don't want to destroy their happiness. But if you've gotten as low as of not carrying, it wont hurt more. Just validates your anger even more. Ive discovered this video very late, but like yea xd

As someone who plays project diva, and project sekai! I remember opening up one KZfaq video and finding Vocaloid, then Project diva. I feel like Sega fell behind STRONGLY! With project sekai, the game is unbearably unoriginal, the charts are frankly very boring, and the situation with mobile apps and big brands really hurts. I hate seeing something I loved be ruined in the sake of just more money! I want the Vocaloid I know and love back

I eventually stopped playing Project Diva games because I couldn't keep up with the new gimmicks they added. Also, it was just far too much Miku for me. I like VOCALOID, learned about them in late 2008 and spent my teenage years as a huge fan. But it just seemed as if EVERYTHING was about Miku and barely anything about Len or Kaito, so I eventually just stopped, as I didn't get invested enough in all the Miku songs.
