Is it still okay to drive a scooter style ebike in vancouver? I heard that there was a court hearing that scooter style ebikes aren't allowed without licensing and registration. Did you ever get pulled over by cops in vancouver in recent years (like 2021 2022)? thanks

Sold my ebike in 2019. I did hear about some regulations in the pipeline. Never had any issues with cops.

Yeah, I have... but also got a warning from the cops lol. Some cops will let you off if you have them in the storage compartment though.

Nice, I’m planning to buy a scooter soon. I’m really nervous about riding on the streets. Cause I can only drive like 32 km on those things and I’m worried about pissing other drivers off 😅

Just stay to the side and you're fine. Also, I find that using the bike setting on Google maps is great. It takes you on all the best bike routes with minimal car traffic/traffic lights.

You can also disable the governor I did and know mine hits 55 60

@@codyfournellcsrf5164 no, mine has only a small cable plug at the rear wheel well, all i did was disconnect it, i now have a top speed of 40 kmh instead of 32.
