It is nice to hear someone who actually SINGS these roles as opposed to some of the howling and screaming we are treated to by some of the socalled "bel canto experts" today. But there isn't much in terms of vocal characterisation, just nice singing and stage acting. This isn't Radvanosky's fault - it's just the way we do opera nowadays, where the stage director is omnipotent, often has very little knowledge and/or understand of music and singing, and ALWAYS puts his own ideas above the score.

She seems to be a little bit flat. Big voice, nothing to say. But Gruberova, e. g. much more colourful both as an actress and a soprano.

Will be seeing her next week in Forza so just watched it yet again. Every time it is riveting. I cannot imagine a better combination of singing and acting. First saw it during Covid when the Met provided wonderful free streaming of operas. We watched the trilogy finishing with Devereux. It got better and better and with this finale went stratospheric.

This production is so astounding, IMHO it's superior to her Medea, I never tire of it. The entire cast is stellar, all of my favorite singers. Radvanovsky has possibly outdone the legendary Beverley Sills.

No vibrato at low C, but in bel canto it looks extremely difficult. That note was hit full and strong and so beautiful at all. He could go even deeper if he needed and that fact is really respectful. Now I'm 37yo right now and can only dream about so resonated low C even I'm a high bass. D2 is the last note I'm able to reach with bel canto at the moment...
