I rode Amtrak’s Cardinal train 51 from Wilmington,DE to Chicago,IL on October 3 & 4,2012 when I was on my way back to the Tucson,AZ metro area town of Avra Valley. I enjoyed the scenery of the Cardinal route through the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia & the New River Gorge in West Virginia, it is one of the most scenic routes Amtrak has in the Eastern United States.

I was riding my horse on a beautiful Sunday afternoon recently, and as I rode by our new Amish neighbors. I had to stop and listen to the sound of angels singing, coming from the Amish home. It was so beautiful, I just sat there enjoying the moment for several minutes. The women's voices flowed thru the valley, along the rode and followed me home. It gave me chills of pure love and lovely harmony. They sang in German, so I couldn't tell what the songs were, but I'll never forget it..

Mr and Mrs Oliver were my Great Grandparents. The tragedy that took place that night scarred my family for generations. Just a horror that’s unimaginable. Hearing Mr Bridge’s words and the way he tells it, really hit me in the chest because I can picture it.

Love the old Hymn. We Methodists don’t bury our dead like that. I have led at two Funerals. Both times, I told the people there that they could pick up a handful of the dirt and put it on the casket. I think that hit the right note with the people there; they were saying goodby to a loved one.

I was astonished to see this video is a product of Belleville, PA. Mostly because I didn't think the Amish would permit it. I had a grandfather who was raised, with several siblings in Allensville, just west of Belleville. One of his brothers, Jesse Kennedy had a general store across the road in Allensville and a brother William Kennedy owned a farm between Allensville and Bellville. That family home is today the home of the Kishokoquillas(sp?) Valley Historical Society. I get to the Presbyterian Cemetery just east of Allensville a couple of times each year to view my grandparents final resting place there. Beautiful country to view!

Love the singing. Looks like they are not really Old Order Amish though. They are in a meeting house. Amish worship in homes. And they are singing in English a hymn not in the Ausbund. Amish sing old songs in German from the Ausbund. And they are being videoed, which Amish normally would not permit. And men and women sit in alternate rows, not on opposite sides. And the men don't have beards. They could be single, but married Amish men have beards. But they are close to old order Amish, maybe Beachy Amish or New Order Amish or Amish-Mennonite.
