Fabulous review. I especially like the comparison charts. I have been using my A20 sleep buds for about 3 weeks now. I had to replace my Bose sleep buds after about 3 years of use. The A20 is a great choice for me and does more than the Bose in many respects.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the review. Thanks for letting me know specifically about the charts too. I was a bit unsure whether it was too much information, so it's nice that you mentioned that. It's interesting that you find they do more than the old Sleepbuds. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Ozlo, made by former Bose employees, compare. They seem to do a lot too, so I'm keen to see what the differences are.

I'm thinking of buying the Ozlo Sleepbuds in the next few days as they take a while to ship as I understand it. When I do, I imagine I'll test them in a similar way to the Soundcore A20, and include the A20 in those tests.

None of these machine, or any other white noise machine I currently know of, specify that they have a green noise track. Some of them just list the sounds as white noise 1,2,3 pink noise 1,2,3 so it's hard to know exactly what the sound colour is. I would suggest trying KZfaq, Spotify, or a white noise app - if you don't mind using an audio platform rather than having a device.

That's a tough one. Maybe find a way to create a better sound barrier by your window if possible, whether that's sealing gaps or using acoustic curtains. Earplugs can help too, but if it's really loud, probably not block it 100%. Listening to your own audio on good headphones is another option.

Hi! Nice to hear from you again, and I'm glad you liked the review. It's not often someone mentions the editing, which takes me days as I'm such an amateur still. So your comment made my day:-) I agree that the Sleepphones are pretty robust. The ones I reviewed back in 2020 are still working too. They are good for side sleepers, for sure, though you rightly mention the fact that the headband naturally shifts around on your head during the night. I hadn't really put much thought into that recently, but I think that might be one of the key reasons to choose earbuds over a headband style - assuming they are also comfortable. And yes, the AirPods Pro 2 have great ANC so I can see why you use them as a back-up. I hope one day someone, somewhere, invents earbuds with the ANC of the AirPods (or better) and the small size and focus on comfort of the Soundcore Sleep A20s (or better). A soft headband with ANC that doesn't involve sticking things inside your ear canals would be amazing, but I don't have my hopes up for that any time soon!

@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 20 күн бұрын
That's a shame. As I said in the video, I have larger ears and ear canals, so they work well for me. But I could see how those with smaller ear canals might have less space for them to hide away in when lying on their side. That will be an issue with all earbuds though, as it's rare that they are this tiny. If only there was a standardised system to match ear canal size to earbud size in the same way as shoe size! For now, unless you just know you have small ears, it's hard to predict in advance whether they will work for you or not. How do you find them on your back, and the overall quality though?

I don't know which ones are exactly compatible. I just tried some of my other tips after reading your comment and none of them fit perfectly. The closest were the Sony WF1000-XM4, but they were still a tiny bit loose, so I think the seal would not be perfect and they might fall out in your ear. Perhaps Sony make some other tips that are the right size. You need to measure the stem and look online. As for equal or better, the Quieton were unique in a way because other companies either have audio as well, or are not intentionally made to be so small. I am currently editing a review I did of the Soundcore sleep A20 and will publish it this week hopefully. They don't have ANC, but are very small and comfortable and have sounds on the app that you can use to mask noise. But if you want silence and just ANC from tiny earbuds - there are none I can think of that are equal to the Quieton. Sleep earbuds continue to be an underdeveloped area sadly...

@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 25 күн бұрын
There are many differences. A key one concerning the sheet is that the cloud sheet is boxed, with two layers essentially keeping the air inside. A thin sheet would mean the air flows directly over your skin. Another one is that a normal fan can't heat you. If you have a fan and it does a perfectly good job of keeping you cool, then sure, save your money and don't get the BedJet. If it doesn't, and you want more power, options, and control, then it's worth spending some time to understand if it might work for you.

Noise blocking and comfort for side sleeping are more important for sleeping earphones than sound quality. You're about to fall asleep or sleeping, not a time to be a hi-fi audio judge. :)
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 28 күн бұрын
I think all three are important - it just depends on the person and their bedroom environment. Comfort is probably the most important point. But even noise blocking isn't relevant to everyone; some people have a silent bedroom so don't need that. Audio quality can be important if someone wants to listen to a podcast, meditation, or ambient music to unwind before falling asleep and would like a good audio experience while they do so. And some people only buy one set of headphones that they use during the day and night, so it's important to them that they sound good. This is why I try to keep different needs in mind when I do a review like this, even if it does make it longer, with sections that are irrelevant to some people.

@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 Ай бұрын
Hi! I don't think so. You could email them to inquire about that though - [email protected] I think it depends what you want to do. If the sound is coming from outside a window or door, you can place it by the window or door. But it can also work on a side table, so you just need to experiment. For snoring, it's a bit tricky because you can't put it between you if you share the bed. If you share the room, then again, experimenting is the way. But really, it's not easy to block out snoring if it's very close to you.

But, both weren't ideal for all sleep positions - unless you manage to lie on your back all night or just listen to some audio for a while before taking the headphones off.

Where to buy the cover?

This particular cover came with the Cosi Home so I didn't buy it separately. Many other brands have a similar looking cover though - it's quite a common style. You can look on the weighted blanket company website (if they have one) or on sites like Amazon or eBay. If you search for 'dual-sided weighted blanket cover with sensory nodes' you should find a selection.

Hey, thank you for that detailed review. I live in Ibiza and directly under my flat is a bar which is everyday open till 4am…So it’s kinda hard to sleep. I’m a side/tummy sleeper and looking for ANC to block the annoying bass and talking of people. Which one would you suggest ? I also did a lot of research and found the „1more comfortable buds mini“ - do you have any experience with them ? Kind regards :)

@nosleeplessnights1 Ай бұрын
Hi, you're welcome! I haven't tried the 1more, and hadn't even heard of them until your comment so I can't give you an opinion on those. I totally understand - I lived in Sevilla a few years ago, so I know the late night noise problem very well. Honestly, there are none that are going to be ideal for side/tummy sleepers for various reasons. None of the sleep-specific ones have active noise cancellation, so the best you can get is the effect of having some material in or next to your ear and whatever music you play to mask the noise from the bar. And out of the ones with ANC, the issue is that they are simply not comfortable enough to use on your side night after night, all night long. You could just use one earbud and hope the bass doesn't travel through your bed too much and so the pillow will block a lot of the sound anyway. But then when you turn round, you will hear everything unless you switch earbuds, which isn't practical obviously. My best advice would be good earplugs if you can cope with them, or just experiment with different sounds to block out as much of the bar as possible. If you do that, you could use any of them, though the smaller and quieter ones will struggle if the bar is really loud.

This is what you will hear…the sound of the engines when going to Mars on a three-year long SpaceX shuttle.

As a sci-fi fan myself, I can't quite decide if your interpretation of the sound is a good or a bad thing! Funnily enough, I've been testing the Soundcore Sleep A20 headphones recently, and one of my favourite sounds on their companion app is called 'spaceship' so I can kind of understand why you head the sound that way. Out of interest, what headphones or speakers are you listening to it through?

They recently went bankrupt so no longer can sell their overpriced stuff! Fortunately I managed to get a refund from my bank (thanks Bank of Ireland, you're the best!) for the ones I ordered (after ignoring so many bad reviews) and never arrived! Not a surprise their bankruptcy, they deceived me until the very end, like cheap scammers. Thankfully my bank backed my claim so I did not ended up seeing my €259 vanishing in the air!

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with the company - it's good your bank came to the rescue at least. Such a shame though as I do think the Quieton served a niche audience and had great potential in probably never to be seen future models. But so many unhappy customers and refund issues will eventually get the better of a small company in my opinion.

If its an ac unit, where does the hot air go?

@@nosleeplessnights1If it's not an AC Unit then how does it produce cool air?
@nosleeplessnights1
@nosleeplessnights1 8 күн бұрын
@@fatboyd9319 It uses convective cooling, which pulls the coolest air in the room, which is at the level of the floor, and funnels it into the bedding. That does mean that it's somewhat limited by the lowest air temperature in the room at the floor. That might sound like it's not going to be enough, but the effect is better than you might imagine in my experience because it ends up feeling cooler once any sweat has been reduced with by the air flowing over you. Having said that, I've seen people from the BedJet company suggesting on forums like Reddit that if the bedroom air temperature remains very warm throughout the night, you might need more than just the BedJet. Their point of view seems to be that it can work well in tandem with AC, but allow you to reduce the thermostat level and cut overall costs. Personally, I found the BedJet was enough on its own. Maybe if you like somewhere hotter, or with a home that naturally heats up more, it might not be. It's hard to predict in advance how well your body and bedroom will respond to the BedJet.

I've had the older model of this without the remote/Bluetooth for 3 years now, used nightly. There's a recurring problem with Sound+Sleep white noise machines, including the very expensive $100+ SE model. I like it a lot because I like rain/water sounds the most, but there's a big issue. The sounds "wear out." Eventually, every sound I use will stop working and the machine simply just shuts off. It could shut off in 60 seconds or 3 hours, but it will shut off by itself. And no, the timer is not on. You then have to pick a new sound which will work for 6-9 months, and then at some point, that new sound will randomly shut off. This is extremely frustrating because these are expensive machines and there are very few sound machines with high quality sound, and even fewer that have a lot of rain/water sounds. In looking at the reviews, you can see many people have the exact same issue, regardless of the model, including the very expensive SE. It's a bizarre problem and unacceptable considering the cost of these machines. At this point, all of the rain sounds I like the most, no longer work.

That does sound frustrating! Sorry to hear your favorite sounds aren't working. Have you tried the factory reset? I just took a look again at the troubleshooting section of the manual for my Sound+Sleep SE and that's the suggestion for issues with 'unexpected behavior'. In case you don't have the manual, here are the instructions: 1) Unplug power adapter from the AC outlet 2) Press and hold the Power Button down while plugging power adapter back into AC outlet. 3) Continue to hold power button down for 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, you could email their support if you haven't already done so. Maybe they have another suggestion. Here's the support contact page on their website: www.soundofsleep.com/product_support/ Let me know how you get on. I know this does happen to white noise machines in general, not just the Sound+Sleep models. So I'm curious to know if you can fix it.

Your Review is the BEST ! Just received mine.... I thought the cable cord with USB would actually CHARGE the machine ?? The machine works great when plugged in but does not work when cable is removed. I thought the 1-4 hours was playing time without being plugged in ??

Thanks - I'm glad you liked the review. I can see why you thought that, but this one doesn't have an internal battery so it will only work when plugged in. The 1-4 hours are for the auto-off timer.

If it did, it would an amazing device! Interestingly, the company that bought out LectroFan a few years ago also makes the Sound+Sleep machines. Those tend to have more of the nature sounds. If they ever decide to combine the two styles of white noise machines, the result will be great if they get it right.
