The worst part to all of this, also based on the tone deafness to DV in their community, is the stigma they left on their children, siblings, cousins and nieces and nephews, of a murder-suicide in their family. I think from very close ofc you would recognize the sounds. The shotgun for example makes a very characteristic sound, and being close you can kinda hear the mechanism and the sound of the cartridge, but the second firecracker for example sounded like a suppressed gun I guess... I don't know, bullets/cartridges and firecrackers are essentially the same thing, powder that goes boom with a spark, so you can't really tell the difference of a single shot/firecracker if it's far, at least not if you don't have experience with guns. I personally have some knowledge but I've never owned a firearm, just a spring rifle and a C02 pistol.

Gunshot sounds from afar sound MUCH different then shown in the video. How to really tell them apart: Firecrackers are just one loud and quick bang, while gunshots go bang with a long fading echo
