Wow You hit my problem exactly. My original circular compress cap gaskets elongated and leaked. Then I got the triangle gaskets and one of those failed after about 25 hours of operation. I can not do the machining you recommend but I will try the annealing. Also needed to know the torque for the bolts (35 ft-lbs, thanks). I have a question. Can the injectors be removed and inspected without removing the gas tank? Do you have an opinion about either Rislone Ring seal or Engine Restore for smoke from worn rings? No good? Or can it delay the ring work for a couple hundred hours? Thanks for a great video. You do great work. Do you think I might find a local diesel shop to test my injectors? That is a lot of questions but nothing compared to what I would ask in person if we were friends (LOL). Thanks, Doug

If you can get your hands on a big container of liquid nitrogen, it will shrink those sleeves to where they will nearly drop in. Still have your puller ready as the sleeves will warm rapidly upon contacting the block metal.

P/S, when fitting new sleaves, if You put them in your fridge, for an hour, then worm the block with a gas torch they will slide in much easier! 🚜🔧🇬🇧

I think you will find it is your rear crankshaft rope oil seal? You can now remove this old style seal, and get the modified rubber ring seal with the new holder. The Perkins 152 engine is one of the best engines ever! Once you have changed the old type seal. Hope it all goes to plan 👍🚜🇬🇧

Like the video! If you will, turn the radio off while filming because it’s hard to hear you over the radio. I have a question. I started to remove that same cover but as I raised the front right corner about 1/4” I could see the gasket was ok but I heard a “plink” type noise from inside and now my main gear shift will not move??. Hi/Lo works fine. Any idea on that the noise could have been? Or what could cause the shift lever to lock up? I had been changing all of my fluids, engine oil, transmission fluid and rear end/hydraulic fluids and installing a new water pump. Thanks!

I have a freezer in my shop that I place new sleeves in before installation. The small amount of shrinkage helps the sleeve to press in a little easier. Also, piston ring gap placement does not really matter all that much since they rotate while the engine is running.

4100lbs? Isn't that rather high for a 12V Cummins? Or is that because you have a P pump?

I would like to know the progress? I have an f550 dump with a 5.9 Cummins in it. Just ordered an act tuner to get the transmission shifting correctly. It has the 5r110 in it. Got to that point yet?

you think what they charge for that adaptor plate, they would machine it right so you don't ruin the strength and integrity of the block, would using a Cummins starter eliminate grinding on the block? Is there anybody out there know that had any issues grinding on the block, little weary doing that to the block.

My 6610 kept getting stuck in forward or reverse . I pulled the cover . Its got a high and low front shifter and a rear shifter that in the cover that pulls up to a forward and reverse . If you push it down it only has a forward . Reverse is non existent in down position . How ever it was getting stuck because it had a ball that would get out of the dogs while going up or down and into forward or reverse the ball would roll out of the dogs and the dogs would then go back to neutral and hang the ball up on one side or the other . I noticed the wear on the square dogs . And the ball had carved out wear grooves . I took my wire welder and built the dogs up . Of course i had to take the dogs out of the housing to do this . Once i got them welded up and squared back off with a grinder . I had to grind a upper taper on the dog so ball could function as it leans over in the housing a little . After i ground it to perfection so i could shift it in my vise and the ball could not roll out . I put it back on . I haven’t had any more trouble out of this transmission since . 1984 6610 4x4 . Actually made in Germany, Assembled in Italy because front axle and transmission was made their .AT ZF components and Engine was made in England

Any idea what year that tractor is? I recently picked up an MF20. It has a gas motor but the reversing lever set up looks the same as yours. I bought it for parts for my MF40 tractor even though it doesn’t look like alot of parts are the same. I paid 500$ and figured it was worth it for the tires alone. The previous owner had completely rebuilt the motor and never finished reassembling it. It sat for at least 15 years and then I bought it. Without much effort I got it running and it runs great so now I’m thinking about getting it fully operational. Is hard to find out the years on the MF industrial tractors. The serial numbers are strangely not definitive. Any help would be appreciated. I liked and subscribed.

That engine is timed at 14+3 which is 17 degrees with the pins engaged. Not injecting at 3 degrees like explained at 7:40. Can mislead people.

For those hoping to see this project completed and the Cummins come to life in the F450, I don't think it's going to happen. No videos have been posted to Gary Bennett's channel in a year. It's sad, but we can only speculate about what became of Gary, Parker, and the converted F450. 😞

Gary, it didn't appear that you were trying to match the position of the lifters to the cam lobe positions using a board or chart. You indicated that those lifters could be re-used without surfacing. If you re-use the cam in the F450 engine, why isn't it important to match the lifters to the original lobes on the cam?
