I actually can understand the equatorial guinean accent quite well, and I say that as a Romanian learning Spanish for a year

Spain is an amazing country but their Spanish is very different from that in Latin America, excluding Argentina, Uruguay and Chile of course that is even weirder 😅 - Spaniards therefore kind of learn you the “wrong” version of the language in terms of grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary from what most people actually speak. Which can make it harder to understand and communicate with people in Latin America.
