Hi, all bushings changed. However when I grease the ball lever in the bracket it shifts smoother, without grease changes are really clunky and stiff. Would you happen to know why?

Super helpful video. I renovated the shifting system and bushings of my MK1 and wasn't sure about the right movements after assembling. This helped a great deal. Thanks for posting.

can't read on the specs above the original engine block code? Was this the ABA? You rebored it but it is still undersquare?

@@coachgius Ah ok I see, thanks. I think the original bore on this motor was 82.5mm from factory. I'm not 100% sure about the stroke. I didn't do anything to the crank.

Hi Boris. It's a brushed metal effect vinyl. I'm not sure who manufactured this particular one, but search Avery Dennison, Hexis and 3M. They are likely to stock something similar.

I watch this often as I'm having a bottom end built up as we speak for my golf 2. 1.8 kr 16v now 1930cc Dta s40 ecu, jenvey 45mm itb's, cat cam springs and retainers, 278 cams, 027 ported and knife edged head, re cut valve seats, je pistons82.5mm , hurricane forged rods, arp 2000 bolts, billet steel crank. All internals balanced. Should rev very well! I've already restored the car it was a 8v running on 2 cylinders. Bare metal then epoxy primer then double primed and Lp7v atles grey metallic. Flat and polished all paint work done by me. I'm a yacht / awlgrip applicator 🤙🤙🏅

Nice. How do you find the 266 in relation to improved driveability (engine flexibility throughout range) ? Got a 1.6 I consider turning 1.8, and go Schrick 266.

80sAudiSport so I did with my 1.6. I just dropped a 1.8 and fitted 32/36 Weber and ported head and free flow exhaust, running 130 hp with the cam at the wheel. Ím considering going to increase the compression ratio from 10:1 to 12,5:1

@@Gavh84 Thank you so much for your reply! I've been trying to use Corel 2017/Corel Laser with a K40 laser, but having a lot of trouble with getting them to work together. I've heard about Inkscape as few times now, so am going to try that! Short story, I'm trying to cut templates/double sided tape for badges. Any thoughts and ideas what programs are best for this are greatly appreciated! Thanks again and have a great day!

@@MicheleSherer Read up on Illustrators Pathfinder tool. You have your shape and then you add a stroke to it. You can specify how thick the stroke is depending on your unit settings in Preferences. I use millimeters and you can set your stroke to be 0.1mm if you need. You then set it to stroke the shape on the inside and then use the pathfinder tool to separate the stroke from the shape and then you delete the stroke which should leave your shape with a thin border removed (whatever the thickness of the stroke was). Hope that helps.

Hey Gavin, love the car! Found out about your project when I found a picture of your car while I was researching interior design ideas for a 1971 VW bus. I was wondering where you got the plaid fabric for the door panel. Also love to see an update on the car!
