Jenn, we love your videos! After watching dozens, we've purchased 3 DVC contracts; Riviera 200 pts., Beach Club 150 pts., and AK 100 pts. My question is; can we combine points from two or more contracts for a room? Meaning, can we use A & B to rent C? Thanks for the helpful advice.

Hello there! I'm so glad that you found our videos to be helpful. Yes, you can combine contracts at different resorts to make a reservation at the 7 month window. As long as the room you wish to book is available, you can do it. There are some potential additional restrictions if you purchased any of your contracts as resale.

They can't exceed a weight of 115 lbs. Even one pound over will get you cut during the application cycle. The costume they wear is 70+lbs.

Great video, thanks for posting! One area of clarification. In the opening description (0.15) it says "1 queen size sleeper sofa". This has been replaced, thankfully, by the murphy/pull down bed.

Just FYI top floors still have pull out sofa bed due to roof line restrictions. We stayed in 5517 but had two balconies with our 1 bdr… good trade off.😬

Do you find that a lot of Americans don’t treat these places very well? For example, how many people take off their shoes at the entrance or pay attention to their suitcases in order to not damage walls or cupboards?

I think it varies from one guest to the next. We always try to be extremely careful and take good care of things, but sometimes kids unintentionally mess things up, and these rooms have A LOT of guests who are children.

Before this refurbishment, we didn't have much interest in Boulder Ridge, but I can honestly say that this refurb completely turned this resort around for us! We really enjoyed our stay and found the room to be comfortable and pretty!

I bought direct in 2017 and wanted Beach club but there was no availability. I declined any other resort and within a week Disney found a Beach Club contract for me. I didn’t even know about resale market at that time.

DVC would rather that you didn't know about resale. While it's a great fit for some, there will always be some owners who prefer direct, though. We like having a combination of both.

Your kids are pretty lucky. I literally tried to do at least breakfast and dinner even when I'm in the studio.. it's easy to order Walmart plus and get Frozen entrees and ready-made salads. I have been as so bold as to get an electric skillet (stealth )pan and cook a whole meal. But that's what I've had like 10 days Days.

It depends on the type of trip we're doing. If we have other people with us, we typically buy most meals. But if it's just us and our kids, we try to keep costs down by eating breakfast in the room.

If I get a resale 50 pt contract to OKW, and another 50 pt contract at Poly… can I use 100 pts to book 11+ months at OKW or Poly?

Each contract would retain its own home resort 11 month booking window. You would not be able to combine the points for bookings until the 7 month window.

No one really knows. All we know is that the contracts end and the owners have nothing at that point. We don't own any 2042 resorts, so I wouldn't have to worry about that until much later. Of course with 18 years left on those contracts, some older DVC owners might not even care what happens 18 years from now while others will.

Yes, it is possible to buy "sold out" resorts direct from DVC, but you'll be paying their full price. If you don't mind a few resale restrictions, you'll get a much lower price purchasing resale. On the other hand, buying direct is MUCH faster.

It depends. If you have multiple contracts at the same resort, you can combine those points to book at 11 months. If they are different resorts, you could book a split stay between two resorts, or book one trip on one contract and then alternate and book a different trip on another contract.

I knew going in that I wanted 650 points but couldn’t afford that many points out the gate and I didn’t want to buy 1 contract with that many points. I told the agent that going in, then when I emailed him to purchase a second contract he was like “You have add on itis.” It’s not add on itis if it was always your plan to buy that many points. Also random but 1 perk of paying your dues all at once is that if you do, you can use Disney Gift Cards which you can save a little money on if you buy them from Sam’s, BJ, or Costco.

I also use discounted Disney Gift Cards to pay dues. Did you know that you can still use gift cards to make payments, even if you have automatic monthly dues payments set up? That’s what we do!

If it was its own, we would only be superseded at 11-7 months with tower owners. Now all existing Poly owners will have that advantage. If it was its own, presumably some resale owners would have been blocked out. As a direct owner (not at Poly), those two things would have been better for me. I see why they did it, you just asked for the opposing view point.

I am so happy to have additional room types made available as part of my Poly Home resort. For all the reasons stated in these comments this is good news. My only regret is that DVC chose not to offer a 3 bedroom villa at the Island Tower. I was going to buy more points to stay at a grand villa, but I am reconsidering unless those new penthouse 2 bedroom villas are really fabulous.
