There are songs that need to be listened to from beginning to end. No pauses. And without a stupid grin on your face.

This song, the first verse, it always hit me so hard. 34yr old single dad struggling with heartbreak and whenever I listen to the 1st verse, men!!

These men have known pain. Grief has visited them severally. All their music will remain iconic. Wherever they are I pray God grants them comfort and blessings. I hope they know how deeply they have blessed me.

Thuggish ruggish was meant to just introduce the world to Bone. It was an EP. Do yourself a favor and listen to the entire E.1999 album, in order.

I was officially woke when I first heard this man! I am LORI BRAVO, the First Lady and Queen Mother of Death Metal...the news at this time was not reporting on what was REALLY going on in the urban streets with our younglings and what these folks were dealing with on a daily basis...after hearing this album, I realized how much of the truth was being kept from the general public! I say...HORNS WAY UP for N.W.A. teachin' and preachin' TRUTH! ^..^

young lady great observation about the off kilter. usually that ODB or maybe reakwon. then the next verse through all the chaos emerges skill and the plan begins to unfold. Distraction, deceit, misdirection to camouflage what's coming. and they DO plan it this way. nice reaction y'all , thank you

As someone with a bit of a "double discipline" this was very interesting to watch. Blasphemy has always been and still is one of my best 2pac songs (if not THE best). Stop trying so hard to figure out the deep hidden meaning in rap. It's about harmony, does it sound good? Does it rhyme in somewhat of a pattern? That's about it in a nutshell, reason why so many corny fucking rappers manage to have more than decent success. If your lyrics are also witty, and carry meaning, even better! For me, Tupac's style was so inspiring because his flow was and still is undeniably one of the best, and the passion he spit with has been matched by very few. I know for a fact that Tupac understood something that Eminem and Elvis also understood, controversy sells. I don't think blasphemy was really about his beliefs. I think he knew a song like that, more than 20 years ago, with all the religious references, was sure to make people react (see what I just did?) whether religious or not. He was capitalizing on his growing momentum, genius move. I've read B.I.G. claim they met at an award show during their beef. B.I.G. asked him wtf was up, 2pac responded: I'm just trying to make some money. Even from a genuine activist, it's a brilliant move, because using this controversy not only makes you very rich, it puts you in the spotlight where you can bring the attention on whatever you like. I feel like he was interrupted before he could finish his work. Being one the best rapper ever was just the side effect of something far greater. Shout out to Eminem, you are the reason why I have to say one of the best and not THE best.

I’m white man in my mid thirties who was a, “white boy” growing up in the south during the 90’s. My first music genre of choice was obviously 90’s rock and metal. All the typical bands you could think of. Furthermore, I was raised by a mother and father which were both natives of Yonkers. The same city in which X was from. Being introduced to rap music in late elementary school. I loved it just like I did the rock music of these times. Moreover, I can assure you that not just X and rap music itself, but this song specifically played a pivotal role in changing my own life years later in early manhood. At 24 years old, I was at rock bottom myself. It was time for me to man up and fix my life. I’d gotten sober, and it took a few years, but as of today I’ve been eight to nine years clean now. To this day forward, Slippin’ is a song that still gives me goosebumps, and in many times still tears to my yes. To this, all I listen to’s the same 90’s rock and rap which I’d grown up on. There’s nothing else which could ever take its place. All the classics of this era stay on repeat. All day and every day while I’m at work grinding.
