Yesterday my Husband had laparoscopy bilateral ingunal mesh repair. He urinated in hospital prior to being sent home. But at home he was constantly urinating a lot disrupting his sleep at night and this morning he got up early to pee many times. Any advise on how to mitigate this issue pls doctor?

This is my after op discharge since I did my hernia on the 19th. Ct andominal pelvis mechanical obstruction of the transverse colon due to incarcerated left inguinal hernia. The colon within the hernia is thick walled with pericolic fat stranding suggesting venous ischaema. No stigmata of perforation. It was repaired with mesh with no complications. The sutures are absorbable and I have waterproof dressing on. Is it ok to put ice on this please let me know. I like that you reply to everyone. I am walking but damn feels like I have been stabbed!

Is that fat being burned off going to be remove or it’s left there? I’m going in for this kind of surgery soon and just wondering. Thanks

What if people don’t want mesh. I don’t think there’s a mesh they’ve created that could possibly become harmful. If not fatal later on.

That s the proper information for pacients who can take the decision which method is the best.And another point is that an open surgery for inguinal hernia is more nerves in the area where is the incizion which is risky,right? I can tell how I feel because i just did it 12 days ago.

I'm about to undergo no mesh hernia surgery in fort Myers, Florida by from what I was told one of the best. No mesh guys in Florida. My little question is I saw some videos on his channel and yes there's a lot of tension. As you mentioned in one of your videos, they're using tension stitching. I don't really know why mesh is so bad. I mean if it's inert and it doesn't affect the body, I don't see why it's a big problem. 6 momths on from inguinal herni mesh surgery. still aching and sometimes sharp pain in groin/testicle area. Cannot get back into gym as somethings just not right Md feaful of causing damage. No answers from orignal doc besides taking an anti-inflammatory. Ive also tried a nerve drug with no luck. What would next solution be? Nerve block? Or could scar tissue be causing this? I just want my old life back. Regretting the surgery.

Is there always a need for mesh? What size hole doesn't necessitate a mesh? Couldn't you just debrid the hole walls and suture it shut?

Have you tried doing same repair using natural tissues and omitting mesh like desarda type repair?

Hello, seems this hernia was an indirect hernia...do you think the Abd peroneum slowly grows into the inguinal canal through the deep inguinal ring and over time becomes adhesed to chord structures making a potential space for bowel to push into....seems you are freeing the hernia sac then using the mesh as a fascia re-enforcement, best joe

Does the mesh ever lose the coating that keeps it from sticking to the organs? I had the surgery a week ago, almost exactly the situation in this video. 2cm umbilical, 6cm mesh used, just fat in the hernia, with this type of mesh used. I am glad I had the surgery and so far recovery has been a breeze, but I keep hearing from people online that the mesh is dangerous and not studied and it had me looking around. I also kind of feel like those are the same type of people who didn't wait the full amount of time before going back to lifting and core exercises.

Remember..for every single one of you in the comments suffering in pain, there is someone at the mesh company and a doctor like this one that caused it, and then later profited from your pain. And NONE of them EVER have ANY accountability or real solution.

I had a laparoscopic procedure done for both my ventral and umbilical hernia in one go last week. I got up a few days ago a noticed it still bulges at the ventral site. There's almost no pain but it's still pretty weird to see.

I got my op done without insurance through dr prakash. He’s been doing hernias for 50 years. It’s been 6 weeks since I had mine and I’m a NPC bodybuilder. Just the feeling of a foreign object in my body I feel it so often due to me being so lean. When I lay in bed on my stomach. When I rub my belly. Went on walks everyday 3 times a day 7 days post op to now. Been working for a week as well. But I am so scared to go balls to the wall when I am at the gym. Idk why but I am just so scared to start lifting anything above 20 lbs in the gym.

I had a robotic-assisted inguinal repair with mesh 3 months ago. I felt much better up until a month ago when I started having scrotal pain on the same side that does not go away and is worse when sitting. I have been examined by my primary care physician and a urologist, who had an ultrasound done and found no abnormalities. I am waiting for an appointment with my surgeon now, but nervous that there will be nothing they can do. Do you have any suggestions for questions I might ask? Also, is physical therapy an option for this type of pain?

Procedure was great you fall asleep then you are awake little pain now 12 weeks after like brand new

Dont sneeze don’t cough dont laugh sleep on your back try to walk a lil bit dont lift nothing wear loose clothing drink plenty water or Gatorade get some stool softener i had surgery Thursday its Saturday night i stil haven’t done number 2 i took 2 stool softeners today i hope the pain goes down b4 my bowel movement smh 🤦🏾‍♂️ take your pain medicine you will need it
