I hear a lot of people struggle to pronounce "couloir". I know nobody will care, or worse, give me shit about it, lol, but here is how it should sound phonetically "Kool-whar".

I'd love to see Red Lodge and Bridger Bowl listed as Northern Rockies destinations and maybe get review vids. While smaller than Big Sky, etc., they are popular destinations for residents of upper plains states because they are a pretty easy road-trip via interstates 90/94 and don't present the sticker shock of Big Sky/Jackson Hole. I regularly drive from my home in Wyoming to ski Red Lodge on Indy Pass, and the lot is always packed full of vehicles from North Dakota and Minnesota. When I grew up in Minnesota, Bridger Bowl and Red Lodge were the most often talked about destinations, and I'm sure those folks would appreciate your view on how they stack up! (Of course, I'd also love to see the Midwest included as a region here too, but I understand why it doesn't really fit your focus on big fly-to ski destinations.)

Ya know the words climate change have become insidious to me. Everyone uses it without truly understanding what it means. Most use it with its current meaning pushed upon us by activists and politicians. It is a fear-mongering tactic used to extort money out of people. The plant goes through cycles and right now we are on the downslope of a colder to warmer change. that's it nothing else

The boat is a lot better than a lot of what you ranked higher. I ski winterpark a lot and I’d say the boat is a lot better. One of my favorites. The snow is not overrated, the trees are endless, and it’s run very professionally.

Spot on. The lack of resilience is my main gripe as a season pass holder. It has to be PERFECT for several days for Cascade to open. It’s frustrating.

It’s a great place when I lived in big sky I would always take a trip down the hwy into driggs. Got to ski colters lift the season it opened as well! Best snow I’ve ever skied. And I’ve been a lot of places. I love wydaho

I'm in the process of planning a trip there. We finally swallowed the thought of the expensive lodging only to find out this would be the highest we've ever paid for lift tickets. It's crazy expensive for being so remote. 210.00 lift tickets😮

Nope. Do you think the only reason it's uncrowded is because no one has heard of it? They've been open a long time. Pretty sure word has gotten out already. It's hard to get to and will likely stay uncrowded no matter how many videos are made of it.

Most of us who have skied Pow Mow for years won't miss the Village or Mary's lifts. They are both VERY slow and serve terrain that isn't that inspiring. Plus they were installed only a few years ago. Putting a lift on Lightening Ridge on the other hand is a winner! Steeper terrain!
@glennplomchok51254 күн бұрын
Spent 4 days at Targhee a couple years ago. Really enjoyed it. Stayed slope side. It's a laid back place which I like and the terrain was solid. Also helped to get a 10" and 28" dump while I was there. The 2ft plus was a serious dump but the vis was terrible. Luckily, I had been there a couple days and could get around. Would certainly go back...favorite runs were good/bad/ugly. North facing aspect = held a ton of deep soft snow for days.

I'd suggest that anyone skiing a week at Jackson Hole take the bus to Targhee for a day. I did, and it was a very nice break from the challenge of Jackson.
