When you transfer germs from your pants to your hands to you product is kinda gross. But maybe you freeze them and kill germs, and the hive beetles u mentioned. Food jandling is very precise.

Is it air tight after the lid is put on? Also, why do you have to put it in the freezer?
@richardsukey77032 жыл бұрын
The lid fits on the package just like it does on a regular medium. The bees will seal it up if they need to. It's good to put it in the freezer for 24 hours just to kill any parasites that might be in the package. It's just a pre-caution.

I am going to try to find any follow ups to this good video but it seems to me very labour intensive and if there were a lot of uncapped squares they could be placed back in with the next batch. Again a bit more fluffing about.
@richardsukey77032 жыл бұрын
it really isn't that labor intensive. No harvesting of frames, no un-capping frames, filtering, or cleaning up buckets, filters, spinner etc... Take out the cassettes, put a lid and a label on it and your done. Couldn't be easier. I order my refills as a complete batch. couldn't put incomplete cassettes in. Having a few open cells in a cassette doesn't really hurt anything as long as it's not a bunch of them. Just have to be more observant and patient the next time.

Well I did get a bit cross with you coughing over the honey, I ha e not checked when the video was made I am watching it during covid so haha yeah guess I do have reason for my anger or annoyance, anyhoo Just a heads up I ha e not attempt any Ross rounds or Hogg half so far only bottle system. Umm you mentioned that the Ross rounds does not, 'presentate' haha according to uncle Google talk, it's not a real world I could not figure out the spelling for it so correct word is presentation haha my bad anyhoo, umm yes you said presentation on a Ross round is not the best however you still need your labels as you said earlier in the video so my question is which label you going to go with one for the finished product? Back label Side label Front label Either way if you want the best presentation it would ha e to be a label for the back wear the foundation wax is if I remember correctly you had to put in or does it already come with that in can't recall or you did not mention it, also a heads up beat to check what your side of the world says regarding labels and or packaging. The Ross rounds from one of the videos I saw on youtu.be the guy used a label that covers that plastic round pipe object. The presentation depends on the labels you going to go with could very much cover what you dissing about the Ross rounds system, so let's wait for your labels first? Did you do an installation first video on receiving the items and how to install onto super then to hive, I shall check after watching this video you made, thanks shall continue watching now... Re-edit: I did check says video was made 7 months ago.. Ummm yeah in covid period maybe beat to wear one of those plastic shields just to be on safest. Oh you did mention the label now, okay yes that does sound cool with the whole hinge idea presentation is still there so that's cool... Umm so wild flower so it's shelf or maybe correct word is crystal shelf is less I'm in South Africa I learnt that different flower can also prolong the crystallization process, the guy I went to last year to rent his honey extractor his honey I traded 340ml for 340ml of mine kept both and within less than 6 months his has already crystallized where as mine is still liquid form it has umm let me go check quickly before I say anything.... Okay it's not yes a complete year yet last year harvesting and spinning was 25 March 2021 its now the 19 March 2022 so just a few more days till 1 full year. I have for experimental purposes last year put 1kg honey away to check how many well now years it takes to crystallize also I've found that different areas ha e different tastes the guy I went to his has a more lemon there was another tasted to it I could not make out it was also sweet type taste mine is very sweet compared to what my family use to buy at the shops before I got the bees, his was a bit lighter not as light as yours is mine is quite darker in colour compared to the guy I went to extract honey from frames... So yeah that's also pretty interesting. So from what I see online Ross rounds super system costs way more that the Hogg half super system

@@richardsukey7703 Here's a random question about beekeeping, can a hive be moved at night and the bees adapt to their new location in the morning and find their way home? For instance, if someone who was travelling around the country, and they had a hive attached to their camper, and travelled at night, would the bees still be able to function?
@richardsukey77032 жыл бұрын
@@yowgyrl No. the bees need a couple of days to re-orientate themselves to the new hive location. There is always the chance that if you leave the location too early you would loose quite a few bees.

Thanks for the video. Did you put in the foundation? And how do the bees get in between the compartments?
@richardsukey77032 жыл бұрын
The cassettes came with a light coat of bees wax in the bottom. The foundation is actually the bottom of the cassette with a comb pattern already on it. There is a gap between each cassette that the bees move thru the package.

Yes I do. Have a new fuel tank to put on it and the rocket for the BRS needs too be replaced. Want to sell it when finished. I transported it from Texas too Florida so I bought a custom trailer to do so. Had to remove the wings to transport but ordered all new bolts and hardware to put back together.
@richardsukey7703Ай бұрын
Hi Charlie, yes I do. I trailered it from Houston to Florida which is where I live now. It is inside a custom trailer that I bought just for that purpose. I have a new fuel tank to put on it because the fuel that was in the original went bad. Has not been stored with fuel in the engine. The wings are off of it and strapped to the inside walls of the trailer. The horizontal stab is also off. I bought all new fasteners to put it back together rather than use the old hardware, The rocket on the BRS needs to be replaced to remain certified. Other than that it is in perfect condition with only about 12 hours flying time.
