Wasn't it slightly cheaper to buy the Hakone free pass from Shinjuku (6500yen) and paying the limited express surcharge for the romancecar (1200yen)?

I’m still trying to learn how to learn with Jumpspeak? It takes me through the exercises but I don’t retain everything. Am I supposed to repeat the lessons, memorize everything or keep moving through the exercises?

Oh hi Leonie! Your video on learning a new language offers fantastic tips for anyone who wants to embark on a language learning journey from the comfort of their own home. I love how practical and accessible your suggestions are! The use of a dedicated notebook is a great way to stay organised and track progress, while the music and subtitled films make language learning fun and immersive. Personally, I've found that reading children's books is an excellent way to start with basic vocabulary and sentence structure. It's a good idea to follow social media personalities who speak the language you're learning, so you can see how the language is used in an authentic way. Furthermore, free language learning apps and a language buddy for practice and motivation are invaluable resources. Your tips really connect with my own language learning experience. The integration of these strategies into my routine has made the learning process more enjoyable and effective. Thank you for sharing these helpful tips! I'm excited to apply them to my own language learning journey and see the progress.

Girl! I’m so happy I came across your video and channel! I’ve also been learning svenska on and off for years now! I completely agree that music is a catalyst as well and have listened to svensk music for a long time now, thanks for sharing your playlist I’ve now got some new songs to listen to 😊. I’ve also got SVT play and always enjoy watching Melodifestivalen och Allsång på Skansen. I didn’t know about the “Rivstart” textbook thanks for sharing that, I’ve used a learn Swedish textbook from the brand “Teach Yourself”. Tack så mycket! All the best to us on our learning svenska journey 😊

My great grandfather is Swedish and he came to the US when he was younger. I was young when he passed so I never got the chance to ask him about his life and my great grandmother lived in another state and unfortunately had Alzheimer’s. So I had no luck asking her about him. I really want to learn Swedish so I can one day go to Sweden to experience the culture and maybe find family members!!

Sometimes we want to chase it with others. But is very different alone. The desire to seek, the need to explore and breathe fresh air. The attitude to find who I am.

I can relate to music getting me into Swedish, I fell in love with the language in 2011 when I found Basshunter, though I haven't made an effort to learn it until now, I know 13 years! How time flies. I wish I would've thought to do it sooner because I could've probably picked it up faster as a kid (I was 10 when I discovered it). On the other hand, there probably wasn't as many on demand sourcest then in the US so I don't think I regret it. I really appreciate actual links and not just vague information!

I just downloaded duolingo I want to learn a language I think it would be really cool so I'm trying to learn from scratch: Bröd and vatten tack (I forgot the Swedish word for and) was that right? I tried to say "Bread and water please"
@Jotaro-o
@Jotaro-o 2 ай бұрын
You got it right. "And" in Swedish is "Och" so it'd be "Bröd och vatten". A small tip. When speaking, a lot of time Swedish people do not pronounce the last two letters of "Och", just the "o" so it'd sound like "Bröd o vatten". But there's nothing wrong with pronouncing all the letters.

It does seem buggy but I also noticed that one of your pinky finger may have been covering up your microphone at the bottom of your phone… I might still give it a try as I seem to have lost my motivation with duolingo…

That’s why you have to start with learning the Spanish alphabet. If you know that then pronunciation is easy.

Wow! I was interested in this app for a different language but after watching this demo, I definitely won't get it. I speak Spanish and I can't understand the rationale of making you pronounce things over and over again, but you don't have the ability to actually hear how it is supposed to be said...they are only showing you in written form. Spanish is phonetic, but you do need to learn some basic rules about how vowels are pronounced correctly, how accents affect pronunciation, what letters are silent, etc. How would someone who has never heard a word like "ahora" know that the H is silent and it's pronounced "ah-ora" not "ah-hora", or that the E in "sé" is pronounced like "say" rather than "seh"? As soon as you mispronounced something, there should have been an option for you to actually click on the words and hear the correct pronunciation, and then you should have had the chance to try again to pronounce it correctly. Thanks for doing the demo. They still have work to do on this app.

Number 3 was the one I relied on the most as a beginner. Watching videos, listening to music, etc.. make you get familiar with the language. I watched a lot of anime before I started learning Japanese. After a year I started to study, it was so easy to learn, and I even recognised some words and phrases from anime. I got to know what’s formal and what’s informal through studying. What’s used and what’s hardly used, and when to use. And cause I kept mimicking the language when watching anime and listening to music (cause I was like 15) it wasn’t that hard to speak it When I tried Korean, even though ppl said the alphabet was way easy, I found it extremely hard. Cause I wasn’t familiar with Korean like I was with Japanese
